Murilo,
I was just kidding. I thought your comment was funny. I'd never take a dot from you, because you contribute much to this group, but I will punch your green if I haven't already.
I made a joke at my own expense. If i'm not pretending to, than I must be actually doing it. Get it?
Ben

re: Supporting mechanisms
Cloud Camper, I promise you I'm not working on a bidirectional wheel. I've been working for years with two weights (unidirectional). That makes my objective easy to understand. All I have to do is get a full half turn with two weights. Not easy enough to have done it, but I believe if it won't work w...

re: Supporting mechanisms
Thanks, Jim and Cloud Camper for your replies.
So, Jim says only one commutation system is necessary, because the wheel is powered by something other than gravity (magic maybe?) though it's only made of wood and lead.
Cloud, do you think a commutation system would be necessary for each direction?

re: Supporting mechanisms
On a two weight system, only one weight should move at a time. There would be a locking mechanism that locks when the weight is up, and released when the weight is down, or vice-versa. That would cause an imbalance. ". . .one of them takes up an outer position, the other takes up a position nea...

Supporting mechanisms
Assuming that Bessler’s wheel consisted of an equal number of weights and support arms (levers) arranged in pairs, there must have been some arrangement of working parts to cause the movement. Here’s my question. If a unidirectional wheel has x number of parts, does the multidirectional have twi...

re: Own up please.
I’m sorry Jim, but most of your writing comes across like rhetoric to me. If the wheel were powered by the motion of weights, then surely it would work in outer space, right? I think you’re over thinking it, leaving no possible solution. You must be convinced you’ve tried every possible config...

Try telling someone the word "gullible" is not in the dictionary, and see if they believe you.

re: I have a question for an engineer please.
Yes, and I also noticed that no material was selected on the screen shots [/img] The actual weights are indeed 2 1/8 inches long. I drilled 1 1/4 holes into 4X4 blocks. The holes were about 2 1/2 inches deep. I then set the blocks on the scale and turned it on. It sets at zero. I then poured the mol...
