Do you know what this is?
I was playing with a "simple" idea untill I ended up with this mechanism I wanted to share. First let me post some media of it. The picture doesn't show that much only the system and the forces at play. The video on the other hand shows it a bit better. The pulley system at the top was mad...

I believe KAS could be right. When the top pendulum hits these legs it might also push the wheel in opposite direction which you don't like. Also in your head this might seem like a simple built but imagine it being actually built. It'll be an extremely complex wheel which would be convoluted by rop...

re: WM2d wheel gains energy and speed, uses the centrifugal
What I don't get is why wm2d doesn't always show the force according to the line of action. This seems to happen with heavy weights or something. Since if you visualize the force acting on the point in the above file you'll see that the force doesn't act on the line of action which is impossible. Th...

WM2d wheel gains energy and speed, uses the centrifugal forc
The wheel is simple. Gravity is off and the weight can slide along the green slot. at it's right is a rope. When it starts to rotate the centrifugal force pulls the rope which then cause the wheel to rotate. That was the plan at least. http://ziosproject.com/NJ/CFwheel.wm2d Again no gravity is invol...

The CF idea is not related to this concept. It doesn't even use gravity. So far all my wm2d tests confirm increasing energy and rotational speed. I made the simulations as accurate as wm2d allowed and it still produces the results so a glitch should not be part of it imo. The idea behind it is diver...

Greendoor no you're not an idiot I really appreciate your time. Basically what I'm asking is how can a weight apply its own weight tangentially on one side and just regularly on the other. As you may know a weight usually at 12 oclock causes no torque, but once it falls clock wise it gives the wheel...

Please give feedback on tangetial weight concept.
Playing with a different design first I then got a completely different idea. So far I haven't tried much but I wanted to share it to get some mechanism ideas from people. The concept is easy. On one side the weights applies their weight tangentially and on the other side it's simply vertical. The m...

The detective work of some people.
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a page with some sort of a timeline layout showing the detective work that some people have conducted during the past years. Like talking to heritage, obtaining notes, clues...and what not. I think this would help new people who are willing to do their own field rese...

Welcome to the world of people with different opinions. People will not always agree with or understand what you say especially if it comes to FE,PPM,OU... concepts. Imo trying to convince people with ink and paper alone won't bring you far. If you really want to shove it in their faces build one an...

You catched up with Einstein pretty quickly :p. Increase in velocity means increase in energy and increase in energy means increase in mass according to the mass–energy equivalence.
