re: A Chained Dog Is A Harnessed Horse.
Turulato, you're welcome. Now that everyone knows why I'm cutting a wheel out of 3/4" MDF to make it a pulley will understand why. I couldn't figure out a way to simulate this on WM2D so I have to build it. The principle is simple, use leverage to lift 4 times a single weight as seen in Jonatha...

Turulato, yes, I am building something similar. I decided to simplify it by not using a spring and jacks. It is similar to MT48 & MT49 on Bill's site

re: Question for Darrell about his wheel.
That would be extremely valuable information Darrell, would you please elaborate how that can be valuable information? Would someone make money knowing that you have filed a patent? I don't understand your answer. You filing a patent does not make it public immediately, please research this site: h...

Pete, just out of curiosity, were you able to use the spring specs I posted? If you haven't, don't worry about it but if you have; I've found that a lot of energy is absorbed by the springs that I used. I also used varying lb/in specs but were unsatisfied. PM if you'd like to chat about it.

A friend of mine patented a high efficiency device for Canada & U.S. and it rang in the tune of $80K USD. The patent attorneys required both detailed drawings and a working prototype . The public is only able to view a small portion of the drawings & pictures but the documentation required f...

Darrell, if you have a working machine, why aren't you patenting it?

Maybe this karma thing should be used in conjunction with PM; only people who PM you can receive a good/bad point on their karma from you.

I've been at it since 1997 when I stumbled upon Bessler's story on Keelynet. It's one of two things that bring out the OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) in me. Okay, it's a good thing to admit to washing hands frequently right? RIGHT?!?

What really gets me is that without air friction, a feather and a heavy weight will fall (be accelerated by gravity) at the same rate.
