Re: MT51 Comments Enquiry ?

C is missing in the text: "No. 51. This is a pendulum invention, which is meant to maintain motion by means of oscillation. A is a pendulum with springs at the top, or pawls, which catch in a small ratchet wheel B, which is fastened to the axle of wheel E. D, shows the pendulum with pawls by i...

Re: Bessler's secret (probably)

It’s been speculated Bessler might have used gear trains to achieve the quick acceleration his wheels had. The weights themselves don’t seem capable of that much start up torque unless he was using a lot more than we think. There are some MT drawings that have gear trains but the notes say the usua...

Re: Bessler's secret (probably)

Is there an MT drawing that shows a rotational lever similar to the cart under the board?

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

A physical build has 100% accuracy. There's never been a false, or true positive PM. A simulation's result is a combination of the accuracy matched to the computing power you have. If you get a positive result, it's probably from a mismatch of those things (objects passing through others), or, the i...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

If no one knows how a physical gravity wheel would look, then no one knows how to program a simulator for one.

Re: Zeroing in on Bessler's wheel

Your latest idea isn’t going to bring the previous duck to life.
You keep trying variations on the same ‘dead duck’.
I don’t want to encourage you to keep trying this concept.
Most others may feel the same.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

I think Sam is right. I think you better find a new ChatGPT; It's full of shit---------------Sam The only mechanical advantage observed in Bessler's wheel with the 3 pulleys is the advantage created by the different diameter of the wheel itself and the axle with the rope wrapped around it (pulley)....

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

I tried measuring the two pulleys. The one on the ceiling is half the diameter of the one on the floor.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

For those that aren't familiar, cgpt has a disclaimer at the bottom of the page: "ChatGPT can make mistakes. Consider checking important information." So the MA is only from the pulley ratios. Maybe B. knew this in advance or discovered it when he tested his wheels. The witness who complai...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

Once again! Are you sure the rope and rope sections formula is valid? Are you confusing that with a pulley system where one of the pulleys is NOT fixed, i.e. , a movable pulley? You're correct, and I appreciate your clarification. I misspoke in my previous responses. I apologize for the confusion. ...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

Hi eccentrically1, can I ask you if you agree with me that if the rope moves up 6" near the axle that the box outside the window also moves up 6"? Graham No, not if the pulleys are different diameters. One pulley has to make more turns to move the rope the 6 inches. Depending on the orien...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

Ask it if it sure the 3 sections of rope cause a mechanical advantage even if all the pulleys are fixed and none of them move when the rope is pulled. That was my question: User If I have a weight to lift and I lift it with a rope running through a fixed-to -the-ceiling, 2" diameter pulley, do...
