Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
FWEIW, I've worked with pendulums a lot and, I found a good way to reset them. About the best that can be achieved is having them drive for 90 degrees and reset in 90 degrees. But, to do that they have to reset twice as fast as the wheel is turning. That's the killer / the acceleration of it. Veloci...

Re: Zeroing in on Bessler's wheel
Completed the sliders. They are common kitchen drawer sliders, modified to fit onto the wheel. Stroke is two inches, with a max radius of 24 inches when extended. The weights, driving weights, are one pound each. Next the storks bills / reversing links or inverters. They are needed to invert the dow...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
Graham, To offer something a bit more constructive. Looks like now; the weights should move in a near prefect circle, offset upwards towards 12:00 but, shifted in the direction of rotation by about 45 degrees. Is there any way you could you simulate this? I'm fairly certain that is how Bessler's whe...

Re: Zeroing in on Bessler's wheel
Replication of Bessler's wheel continues. Just my version of it that is. Completed the Rings and Rollers. The new design is rolling smoothly; with seemingly little or no friction. I can hardly believe it; considering all the difficulty that I've had in the past. The storks bills will have one stage ...

Re: Zeroing in on Bessler's wheel
HI SHADOW,
Great, thanks, that's the idea of it. It should rotate in either direction; always top heavy. I'll build it and see if it will work. I think it's fit's with the known descriptions of his wheel------------------Sam
ETA Thanks SHADOW, thanks for your help.

Re: Zeroing in on Bessler's wheel
I think I see how it was done. Back to the Ring & Rollers. They are the lifters, the weights that do the lifting. Like So: Set the R & R horizontal with it's cross-bar, then have a storks bill connected to the center of the cross-bar going up vertically, with a weight at the top end of it. A...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
Hi Tarsier,
There is energy in falling weights, a lot of energy, kinetic energy. But, you're on the right track. The thing that makes it so difficult; is, how to find a way reuse it. How to reuse that same energy, over and over again--------------Sam
