re: The Paul Scheerbart's perpetual wheel
When first started, the main wheel seemed to instantly reach a steady speed, which is not what I would expect in any legitimate machine. It smells of a hidden motor, IMHO. I would be willing to bet the huge base it is mounted on is not empty.

A drummer was fired from the band he was in because his timing was bad. He was so depressed he went down to the railroad tracks and threw himself behind the train...

re: A new Forum idea...
I for one don't understand the advantages of posting our ideas, good or otherwise, on wiki. Scott has done an admirable job of hosting this forum, and I'm of the opinion that a mere link to this website would be adequate for anyone wanting to find out more about the subject. I would advocate putting...

Brian Berrett has invented a generator using Milkovic's device which is well worth checking out. Description and photos are at

I'm convinced that Georg has a working wheel, and that people should make an honest effort to understand his concepts and excellent workmanship. Good show, Georg!

I'm wondering if it would make any difference to have the wheel partially filled with liquid rather than completely filled as depicted in the diagrams...

Ed- Bessler's bi-directional wheel also required a small push to get it started. IMHO, this wheel design is also bi-directional. Doubt if you like, but I fully expect that we will be hearing much more of Georg's efforts. Heaven knows the world needs another good energy source, and my heart tells me ...

re: Georg Künstler's Ideas...
I have been watching Georg's walker video, and if you turn up the volume, you can hear the inner wheel hitting the outer wheel at regular intervals, even after the wheel itself has gone beyond the camera view. I could not hear any slowing down................ That's good enough for me! Good show, Ge...

re: MR. BESSLERS WONDERFUL WHEEL
I built a quick version of this wheel with 2 disks / 4 arms out of plywood, with 20-inch disk and 2-inch thick arms, mainly because of the ease of construction and confident tone of the original post in this thread. It was a short diversion from another wheel I'm building and I thought I'd give it a...

re: Energy Transfer in principle - discussion
Here is an interesting animated graph of the brachistochrone which compares weights moving along different paths, primarily cycloid versus straight line. It got me to thinking about getting a weight from the ascending to the descending side of a wheel quickly without having to ride through the apex....

"Gentlemen" (I use the term loosely), I strongly urge you to dispense with the derogatory remarks and take Georg seriously and give him the respect he well-deserves as a productive member of this community. I can understand some of the frustration, due in part to a language barrier problem...

re: Question- Survey
I usually spend time percolating an idea until I am reasonably convinced it will work and then get to building, usually with wood, and late at night when I have more thinking time. So far, I've built somewhere around a dozen wheels (I haven't been counting) and have countless unbuilt ideas on paper....

re: Iris wheel
I think the Iris Wheel has considerable merit, and the water at the bottom got me to thinking... what if there was a "reguaging ramp" for a short distance at the bottom instead of a pool of water? Limitations imposed by buoyancy requirements would no longer be an issue and the ramp could b...

re: What would you do, really.
I would send a complete write-up on how to build a working wheel to the world via the internet with the faith that good karma is returned eventually. Other people could further develop the wheel based on the original working principle and make money on it and I would applaud them for their efforts. ...
