Since my screen name in " members browsing" now appears in a different range of the visible spectrum (color) from everybody elses... Happy April Fools Day Robert. Everyone who logged in yesterday had the impression that they had been promoted to Site Admin. Just trying to help lighten the...

Mike, thanks for ebullient and informative post.
I might pay for a rotating or flashing screen name but not an orange one.
Wonder how far this board would go with dues being required?
I think it would be a smash hit and that more members would join.
I recommend a free 30 day trial first.

Scott,
Since my screen name in " members browsing" now appears in a different range of the visible spectrum (color) from everybody elses, I was wondering if you could also show your xpertise by making "rks1878" spin or preferably "just revolve"?
Just asking.

Jim, Gene and Steve,
The model was running with a pin friction setting of 0.25. I don't know what that equates to in real life though. That is the only pin/pivot in the sim.
Accuracy was set at 80.
There are no curved polygons.
I appreciate yall's thinking and suggestions...

Here are some graphs of my current idea which works on WM, and which I said I would put up today.
Any comments, analysis, questions are welcome.
Without all the graphs it ran out to over 34k frames before the program limit was reached.

doc, Interesting how after a long dormentcy, and few total posts, you come out and mention me three times. I'll put some more graphs of my latest idea, here tomorrow. I'll show them run all the way to the end of the spool this time... acceleration torque etc. I'm out and away for a bit lomger thru t...

Doc,
Your sincerity is appreciated and understood.
My prescription for you is...WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING!
When the day is dark, and you think you can go no more, that is the time to push harder and grow.
Hope you feel good soon.

Thanks Fletcher and Graham.
When I saw the minus sign, I thought it was indicating a non-working model, that the program was somehow supporting the rotation.
Another dead-end? I don't know.
Seem to have more than my share of working sims.

Had a new idea using one cross bar and a weight with a spring on a wheel.
Here is the velocity graph out to 29000 frames, where I intentionally stopped it. It will run out to over 34K.
Question: Why is the velocity a minus number? In the sim, the wheel is clearly turning.

Robert, What a difference my "epiphany" about shifting/moving weights made! [/size] The weights have to move. There has to be a change in the position of the weights on a wheel. If they don't move or if they're static the wheel won't move. Could you explain what you're saying? If you're s...

One place to hide from gravity on earth, maybe, is one of those airplanes that astronauts train in where you see them floating around relative to the cargo bay.
I understand gravity eventually will find you though.

Steve, What a difference my "epiphany" about shifting/moving weights made!! For months I was so secretive about this design, locking the doors, covering the windows, a sheet draped over the model in the shop, etc, and LOOK, here it is for all to see, MY NON-WORKing lesson in PM!!!!!!!! I h...

Jim,
I have let Adobe know about your problem. It seems very un-customer friendly for Adobe products to be doing that to you.
Everybody else: In Adobe Acrobat 7.0, and I suppose earlier versions as well, there is a clipboard viewer in the "Window" drop down menu.

Jim,
I supose this is just a nice way of telling me you are not interested in it, since updating the reader yourself, is easier than me doing the drill of making a gif and posting it.
Thank you for your sincerety.
