re: ToyPage Note

I dont think the tippe-toppe is there because it has any hidden clues or direct relevance to his wheel mechanism. There was no understanding of its behaviour then(the top), I feel its been put there as an 'example' of raising a weight mysteriously. Elements of JB's signature in graph 2 ? http://www....

Sounds like a great adventure! Metal detectors do not go that far down into the ground, no where near meters deep, Ground radar can go deep but made up or previously disturbed ground gives noisy images, I would take one more for scanning wood/plaster/brick building for hidden metalwork.

dont forget the other option that maybe Bessler hid with the handkerchief, that it was drilled thro' end to end lengthwise (my guess), slid on a rod(scraping noise), that moved via a scissor(mentioned), that with the action of the spring(mentioned and heard), made the joined weight(mentioned) eccent...

the Logo

Re: the 'and still you do not understand' logo, black with 3 white triangular sections. I have been looking at his and I note the tips of the 3 white segments seem to pierce through the outer of the 2 concentric circles of the axel, lets assume these tips are riding on the inner circle and that its ...

Quote from a bit back 'used as picking points to remove the cast wheel from its mold', not sure but if sand cast dont you just break up the mould to release? Even unthreaded it could be used for some attachment, say, a spung wire rod arrangment or device that clamps or can be tightened in/out radial...

re: Bessler Wheel question

Tarsier79, I believe springs give possibilities in motion/results that may be needed, actions not available with rigid rods/links/levers/cords/chains etc. Springs we know do not produce any excess but they can 'do things' not achievable by other means, ie store/delay, advance/accelerate, pulse/harmo...

It is my opinion the 'tee bar pendulums' never existed in real life, there is no report of them ever being seen, they only exist on that drawing and thats to pass on some clue/info. Regards Jon

There is more than one item of evidence pointing to Bessler using springs of some sort as we know, personally I think them essential. Regards Jon

maybe the 'inferior' smaller weights collectively, linked in, is the prime mover(set)? Each latched vertically around 11pm/11.30 pm and sprung released to just go 'over the top' 12pm position? You probably couldnt save more than the 'half hour' or so in compression from the fall, but there is defina...

If you rotate the wheel slowly a free hanging pendulum with its pivot wont tend to swing, just adjust to the new position. If you then start it more rapidly it still doesn't impart hardly any swinging in the pendulum. so we have slow and fast, what mech would have a speed related critical 'start' po...

Its name lives on in various currencies as the dollar or tolar. Etymologically, "Thaler" is an abbreviation of "Joachimsthaler", a coin type from the city of Joachimsthal in Bohemia, where some of the first such coins were minted in 1518.
