Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
You said it before Greg, and we all know it to be true, and why the Conservation Laws capture everything and not just our swinger carts in isolation etc .. Newton's 3rd Law of action and reaction .. In the first law, an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it. In the second law,...

That's looking good, MrTim!
Professor Goodstuff is also a decent addition to the collection! :)

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
Gregory .. here is your dampened spring sim with a mod - I locked down the right hand side pendulum so it can't swing upwards but the left hand side one can - so it gets full inertia at the start .. It is increasing in velocity ( and KE ) between stop and starts building up quickly, even with dampe...

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
Gregory , I am not sure if the same sign can be used because it changes how the energy calculation has to be done , one is a subtraction from the energy budged and the other an addition to it , (i wont know i am not a math wiz :/ ) using the correct sign is however the correct way though , in wm2d ...

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
Thanks for making the dampener springs-pushing swinger sim Gregory, as a further check test etc ( wow, there are some complicated formulas in there that took some working out by you, kudos ) - they hopefully help clarify or eliminate some thoughts about mechanical possibilities, or not, as the case...

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
Gregory: 2. In the case of the accelerating and decelerating forces for the cart, I think it's possible to interpret the forces to work with the same sign, like I spend energy twice, both for starting and stopping the cart, and doesn't receive back anything. It's totally legit if the system can be ...

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
Hi all, I tried to think through this in more detail, and arrived somewhere. Yes, johannesbender, you are right that work done can be positive or negative number as well. For example if you lift a weight with your hands, then work done on the weight will be a positive number, and work done on your ...

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
Ok, in this experiment I used a cart with two swingers, plus two spring terminals to start and stop the cart. The cart is started by a compressed spring, and later stopped by another identical spring, and in the process both swingers rise up reacting to the acceleration/deceleration, same as before....

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
Here's the twist Gregory .. the dimensions and masses are much closer to your recent 1 Leg experiments .. Here I compare 3 Swingers against WEEP Theorem - 1 is the Control - 2 is able to raise up its pend bobs - 3's pend bobs are able to fall .. ** I have taken out much of the Outputs and let the v...

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
On that note .. Greg .. I am rebuilding the 2 leg swinger comparison sims, with what I hope will be an interesting twist - started the sim-builds this morning so should have something to show before too long .. Great, have a good time! and let's see what results it produce... I started experimentin...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
One thought that keeps coming back to my mind is that if you take any wheel and spin it in a clockwise rotation the right hand side is becoming more weightless in places and the left hand side is feeling the effects of gravity more in places. Have a look at this simulation in Algodoo. Run it then t...

Ah right, that's logical! Haha, I feel stupid now... Thanks John!
I just remember reading different versions of the same text, and thought there have to be some translation to it, and then an original version must exist. But not a big deal anyway.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
Hi Gregory, this kind of statement is what I wish people would throw at me more often because although I have read a lot in the past I have a memory like a sieve for some details and these little details can give vital clues. The ability to rotate the wheel slowly without it taking off also suggest...

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
The way that the witnesses described the movement of the bidirectional wheel when moving it from a stationary position. Everything about that movement of the wheel would have felt unnatural. In our everyday life we sometimes feel that sensation because of some of the motor assist devices that we us...
