This thread has a very good reminder for builders, Size matters!
Did Bessler ever show off any small desk-top models? I think not.
His wheels were BIG! That whole thing of friction vs. torque, goes bad when you build small.
I know you all knew that, but I just got it!

The image that MrTim and I are referring to however, is the one at the top of this forum. Does anyone else see Bessler's eyes move and his tongue poke out? I've only just noticed it happening, and it seems so obvious now that I can't believe I could have missed it if it had been happening all along...

A balanced wheel will coast and only slow down relative to any friction. One could make a balanced wheel with a solenoid rod that moves outward when energized with a spring return, and then position photo sensors on the rotating wheel to energize and de-energize the solenoid for any duration desire...

Like thousands before us John, yours is a wheel design that doesn't work no matter how it is dressed up in a factual 'Trevor-esk' website. Moreover, let's not forget that your willingness now to open source is not as a result of some moment of altuitism, but out of a need for you to perpetuate the ...

This is an example of why I love this Bessler Forum, any little nuance of Herr Besslers life, words, pictures or whatever is examined for clues to his wheel!
I hope you guys do discover how he made his wheels turn very soon! We could use a bunch of them about now.
