Re: I think the secret is here

The 80 fps is to a stationary observer on the bank. Are you saying that the barge velocity gets added twice? If so, why? The ball is moving 40fps when it encounters a target moving towards the thrower at 20fps. The ball sees 60fps elastic compression. When it rebounds the surface it leaves is movin...

Re: re: I think the secret is here

Ideally the best part where the thrower avoids the ball which will hit the sliding panel behind him. The ball bounces back towards barge, hitting it again and comes back at 120 ft/s. If we're lucky then after a couple of round trips a lot of the barge's momentum will be transferred to the ball and ...

Re: I think the secret is here

The barge is approaching shore at 20 feet per second. The thrower sees the ball leave at 40 feet per second and the observer on the barge sees it approaching at 60 feet per second then bounces and departs at 60 feet per second. The thrower sees it approaching at 80 feet per second. I think not, ass...

The thrower sees it approaching at 80 feet per second. veloc...

re: The Plausibility of Perpetual Motion

A lot of bunkum is promoted as fact. c being the limit to velocity for example. It requires we all have the same frame of reference, which is absurd. This trickles through our entire physics catechism. You have to have a rationale for your device and most folks don't have one. What is your mechanism...

There is little doubt in my mind James Lindgaard has mental issues. What I find very curious is how the brilliant and gifted of this forum want to unbraid him. James Lindgaard is low hanging fruit. He's cookies on the bottom shelf. Is that the best you can do, gifted ones? Take cookies from childre...

I don't think you can get a balance wheel to work. Symmetry gets you every time.

re: Perpetual Motion is Impossible

Your assertion is incorrect. For example, consider a pipe descending into the ocean with an osmotic membrane on the down end. Fresh water weighs less than salt, about 3%. If the column is long enough the weight of fresh water will be such that the pressure differential establishes flow across the me...

If the upward mass is stationary the spring pushing down should have the additional traverse that used to be used behind the large mass. Force /time should get extended in other words.

the coils are the "lever" Analogous to resistance in the coil. But the lever doesn't get less massive with cold but the coil does. Sitting on dry ice it may be very low R. I assume if you need iron to close the path it is essential you avoid saturation. Just what is the work efficiencies ...
