May be a MOV, destructed after an overvoltage. This kind of component has a ability of autoscaring, but the scar is autohealing only a dozen of times, after that it explodes.

Dear raj,
What not a triangle?

And why not a simple circle?

re: The summary of my latest studies

Next step of the building.
This time the speed doubler is included (in fact a divider, the transparent relocated disk rotating at the same speed than the main wheel, instead the primemover's rim rotating at half the main speed, what was required).
The four elbowed pendula are not included yet.

re: The summary of my latest studies

The answer is to go forward for a practical test. Here below a shot of the wheel including the latest corrections. The primemover will be linked to the divider (squirrel/hamster cage) and the replica (not yet included) of the small centered gear. edited (for the newbees): although the shape is not c...

re: Another claim to a working device...

Just my personal opinion (for sure not the truth). The man in front of the pics is just the Count Karl of the inventor, and is so much rich to accept to loose his money even if the engine don't work. A challenge... The inventor has built several prototypes of limited size, but not working. Neverthel...

Dear Andyb & ruggerodk (same person?), The centrifugal force could be involved in this old topic too. See here: http://www.besslerwheel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=55360&sid=922a5a215f4bc05a395d7e438e5080c8#55360 . Dear raj, The most difficult part in this type of design, is how to make the as...

re: The summary of my latest studies

Dear daanopperman, I'm afraid you did not understand the content of the quote above. First no where is supposed the weight rising from 6:00 until 12:00 on a vertical line, but just reaching the axle by any path reducing the centrifugal force because the reduction of the distance from 6:00. Then you ...

re: The summary of my latest studies

Dear daanopperman, In the Orffyreus wheel, shifting weights move in towards the axle on the ascending side and out to the rim on the descending side. The idea is to produce an increased 'leverage' of the weight directed toward the axle on the descending side and a decreased 'leverage' applied to the...

Dear raj, You know what I think about the crankshaft... http://www.besslerwheel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=101753&sid=c6c95623499bf7167402b3640700f49b#101753 Why the vilbrequin (crankshaft) is also thick in an engine? And when the crankshaft occupates the center volume, how can you let swing your...

re: Is anyone working on any type of water wheel?

Dear ztropolis, Welcome. There are so many threads in this forum discussing on this subject. Make a research on the word 'buoyancy'. Another link on the same subject: http://www.eagle-research.com/fenergy/gravity.html I'm myself not interested by the water (only by the pure gravity), but good luck!

re: Mayday! Mayday!!!

Dear raj,
Sorry, but I cannot see how the small drum can rotate at a speed twice the main wheel, being just linked by some elastic spokes to the inner rim.
If true the bikes shall run two times slower.
Perhaps I missed something?

I red somewhere the intend of Bessler to establish a school for some apprentices.
In that case the MT drawings will be only some templates for the knowledge of the students. Is this true?
