Cute Jim!...if you think about it, if Santa did snap. We would all be in trouble. He has access to all information, and access to all houses. He probably knows all my account numbers. Wow, we need to pass some laws. Sorry is this off topic? ok, ok, ok, I think the rating system is fine with me.

Oh yes the "rating system"... For concise usage, It requires the participation of all who participate or wish it would go away. Sometimes it only takes one opinion to change ones attitude and/or behavior.

Just this Sunday morning the wife were quiet and thoughtful, sitting around the breakfast table when I said to her unexpectedly,
"When I die , I want you to sell all my past received Christmas presents including my hand and power tools."

"Now why would you want me to do something like that" she asked.

"I figure a woman as fine as yourself would eventually remarry and I don't what some other asshole using my stuff."

She looked at me instantly and said: "What makes you think I'd marry another asshole?

Oh! well, its just one persons opinion.

It certainly proves that a high rating don't make jokes funnier than they are!

The Greenie rating system has it's really good as well as not-so apects to it, and so I suppose that it just has to remain as a sort of love/hate thing for most here.

It has to be, because if otherwise, how then could the really bad troll pests be dealt with collectively/summarily, as needs be?

Ralph seems to have a set policy for his use of rating buttons. Perhaps we all might improve oursleves on the matter by creating and instituting ones of our own and then sticking to them, and thereby eschewing any passions of the moment.

In part, you wrote on page two that ". . . Bessler's wheels were not gravity wheels. They were motion wheels."

By this might you expect that such wheels that work as motion only ones, could be expected to operate in a zero gravity condition, as well?

Presently, I am of the subtle persuasion that both motion and gravity are needed, in order for motions to perpetuate of themselves, according to The Preponderance Principle.

Like yourself, I am logically persuadable contrarily.

It's flawed and serves no purpose.
There are a number of problems other than sock puppets.. Like useless trolling, useless members, useless posting, thread hijacking.
Your point is understood; I find it irritating to be notified of a new post. Log in to read it, and find nothing but a "Smiley" or a "hand Clap" icon.

The rating system can be used to eliminate the cause and effect of these time consuming posts. When the responsible posters rating start dropping, they might catch the drift!
WORST than all is to deal with nickname guys in this forum!
True! How much integrity can one give to a person that wishes to hide behind a pseudonym on a member only forum? Do not misunderstand me, I have no objections to pseudonyms as long as we can refer to their given surnames or know who we are communicating with via private mail.

The rating system is clearly flawed because i should have a higher rating than I actually have !!!!
