It's an html tag.
The url is http://www.danasoft.com/vipersig.jpg
Whoever views this page it shows their IP, nobody else sees it but you.

Hi all,
Now that had me going ! That was very nearly my IP address 210:55:xxx.xxx & co.nz (I had to look up achived posts to find them again) BTW I haven't replied to this thread as yet. So now I'm just confused ! That wasn't me here in Auckland NZ & I'm pretty sure it wasn't Rainer so you guys that are more computer savy please explain. Was/Is the guest & the respondant from Auckland NZ ? or is someone playing mind games again ? KISS thanx.

Hi Fletch;
The above post has an embedded dynamic HTML link in it. What that means is; it trys to show your own IP info, get it? No matter who happens to read the post, it pings their own pc/server for info. It is a confusing post to be sure. Maybe Scott can delete it to avoid confusing people.

LET'S NOT SPIN OUT OF CONTROL HERE!
Hi all!
Wow! I didn't think a little HTML tag could create such controversy! (Good thing I didn't attach it to my 'signature'. I only popped it into a useless thread to try it out, as it does get rather tiresome to look at all the time.)
If it disconcerts anybody, go to
http://www.danasoft.com
They have a full explanation of what it does (which should hopefully allay your fears.)
Well, I hope I didn't trigger any paranoiac episodes (heee!) or get anybody's blood pressure up! (Sorry Grim!)

Should we have a poll?i think its about the need to remove anonymous posters ;-)

An html tag that has been around for 3 or more years and everbody panics. Maybe you should spend a lil more time on the internet instead of the wheel.

I've never seen it before, and I still don't get what going on here.

Thanks Guys for the explanation - as Patrick said doh ! LOL
To Jonathan - the placard you see in various posts contained in this thread is customised to each PC user (thanx to Mr Tim :-) Like looking in a mirror ! Well definitely I'm not up with the play with the interent as someone so kindly put it (fortunately that's not life threatening nor a sackable offence) but I just might have an idea where TommyK's soultion lies :-)

Yes, I understood what that thing was, but I still don't understand why it or this thread is here.
If you have even the slightest inkling about TommyK, spill it, I'm goin' nuts here.

re: Who put the Freak in Perpetual Motion
An interesting observation of intertia.
Example : Start with a horozontal pendulum with a disk (mass m radius r) fixed at the outside point. (the disk is fixed in position on the shaft of the pendulum i.e unable to rotate independently). Release the pendulum from the 3 o'clock position and let it swing freely or in this case on a one-way bearing. Measure its interia or momentum at 6 o'clock position!
Repeat the experiment but this time the disk (mass m radius r) is able to revolve around its attachment point and therefore is not "fixed". Measure the interia or momentum at 6 o'clock position!
Answer (open to discussion) : the fixed disk has greater interia to overcome as it accelerates but conversely requires greater effort to stop! (individual point masses within the disk are forced to rotate about the axis aswell as traverse with the pendulum shaft). In other words they take a different path compared to the second example!
The reverse is true for the disk able to revolve independently. i.e the point masses within the disk are not forced to rotate around the axis as they traverse! (they cut corners) Therefore that arrangement has less interia to overcome and can achieve different momentum charactoristics.
Soooo ... build an arrangement that has a pendulum with a disk that can be locked and unlocked at pre-set positions to take advantage of ... and bleed ... excess energy from the assymetric system. This must contain a flywheel for timing & energy storage/release reasons I should think.
Then again I could be completely loopy having chased this particular Bessler tail for far to long ! :-) & this is not at all what TommyK is doing !!!???

re: Who put the Freak in Perpetual Motion
I think this is interesting, I ttoo have been working with creating inertia differentials, but I have been trying to do it to the flywheel. I'm still not convinced that it won't work either. I will do a quick analysis and post what I think in a few minutes.

re: Who put the Freak in Perpetual Motion
Hey, I'm back and Fletcher is right. I've done a simplified version of the math, where the disk is replaced with an 'x' with a weight at the end of each arm. When the 'x' is free, the rotational inertia of the pendulum is I=m(R^2), where m is the mass of all the weights (each is m/4) and R is the radius of the pendulum. When 'x' is fixed in a position such that two of the arms are parallel to the pendulum's radius and two are perpendicular to it, I=m(R^2)+.5mRr+.75m(r^2), where m and R are the same as before and r is the length of the 'x''s arms. Notice that it doesn't matter what the length of it's arm was before, only when it is fixed does that matter.
I think this really could go somewhere.

TommyK, it is clear that you started this thread and that you have been posting to this topic and elsewhere using false names.
Note: IP information is now available to registered users.
Care to explain yourself, Tommy?
Thanks,
Scott

re: Who put the Freak in Perpetual Motion
Well that's suspicious. As I can't/don't know how to veiw IP stuff, can someone tell me how we know this?
EDIT
Nevermind, I see, Patrick helped me. The evidence is that TommyK has posted 40 times from 68.39.157.67 and the guest that started the thread "TommyK" posted from there 10 times. This doesn't look good.

re: Who put the Freak in Perpetual Motion
There is no explanation needed Scott. It was done to see if the board had integrity, and if the host was honest, which obviously you are not as you have posted my IP address. I knew that if I started this thread that something from Scott would surface and then I would know my length of trust towards him. If I published my device on this board do you really believe that Scott would have been honest, and not have shut the board down and claimed it for himself. Don't believe otherwise. Nothing is safe to greed. I stated earlier in this post that this was the reason for the thread.scott wrote:Care to explain yourself, Tommy?
Thanks,

I wouldn't be surprised if Scott were a few of the other users as well.
And do not say you are not being dishonest as you are cleary violating the terms of ICANN by placing "BOGUS" information within your registry.
That is dishonesty, and even a reason that ICANN would pull your domain.
If I wanted not to be known I could have used a proxy.
After all they are freely available at http://www.stayinvisible.com
And, If Scott had such a big interest in seeing a discovery then wouldn't he be contributing ideas instead of just lying in wait to get the answer?
Think about it.
My last post to this board. No Apologia.
re: Who put the Freak in Perpetual Motion
If I might interject;
Since that was your last post, (which I doubt), I think the board will be better off without you, which might be too bad, since it is possible that you were once a sincere person with true motives and good efforts. Only you can tell how the disappointments of life have embittered you to acting the way you do. Is this the end of TommyK/Mitch Robinson? I doubt it ...but the question remains whether you will re-create yourself as another anonymous superego persona or whether you will 'come clean' forsake the cloak of anonymity and start to be part of the solution. The truth shall set you free.
How can posting IP addresses, which increases the honestly level of the board be described as 'dishonest'?if the host was honest, which obviously you are not as you have posted my IP address
Not likely, & you have provided no proof of this of course.you are cleary violating the terms of ICANN by placing "BOGUS" information within your registry
You already made some serious efforts efforts to remain unknown! If I wanted not to be known I could have used a proxy.
Scott has posted some very revealing experiments he has done with numerous photos included in the members only section. If Scott had such a big interest in seeing a discovery then wouldn't he be contributing ideas..
Mitch, let's be honest, how can you talk about integrity when you still allow your gravity motor to be posted on the 'greater things' website? How can you talk about integrity when you call others with an equilibrium design 'retarded' which your gravity motor was and still is? How can you talk about integrity while at one time speaking piously and the next saying 'FU' to people? It was done to see if the board had integrity,
