This machine is nothing short of astounding.
Aldo Costa has officially been unseated from the top-dog spot of enormous gravity machine undertakings.
If this RAR Energia Machine proves to be a runner, I am going to break out the Champaign, then cry, then make one.
I'm curious how they plan to stop this thing.
@Murilo, How far is this device from your home? If I'm not mistaken, this is in your country.
I have read they are planning a museum of models along the lines of the MT drawings to showcase the failed designs that lead to this behemoth's alleged success.

Dear Captain,
these guys are at some 1.200km from Sao Paulo, my little town.
I made two phone calls and I can't say they, besides friendly, show a high good will to talk and change ideas.
I asked a friend to go there, at downtown address, maybe their office... They didn't let him pass from the door and to come in. 8(
Honestly, one can not say they are hostile, but dealing to 'sensitive situation', stuff that we may easily guess.
If one can understand what happens with this set building, they deal to some research, and this may be recognized because they made important changes.
To be true, up to now I didn't reach to the dynamic principles they are using.
TC!

"Right now RAR looks good. In the last 24 hours we have had several positive reports that it has been running for hours on end, BUT finally ground to a stop. Maybe due to kinetic energy having kept it going. BUT maybe due to technical glitches.
WE hope for a great show, but if not we move on to the next opening scene."
There is no way that K.E. would keep it going for hours on end. If those reports are correct then the device must basically work.
I've just come across this post which amplifies the above
"Whilst I am no mechanical engineer, and never will be (even though my Grandfather was a Chief Engineer on giant ships, his talents never washed off onto me) one of the things I have always been able to do all my life is visualize. I have always been able to think ahead and not only project trends and concepts but also be part of making them happen. I have stepped into projects having absolutely no knowledge or skills in them, but can develop and then bring them to fruition through using other peoples talents.
In regard to RAR these are my views:
(1) In order to achieve its objective the machine has to be big. It could never be anything but as it's output will always be relevant to it's size.
(2) Losses due to friction. One commenter here today says he knows from "sources" that the machine runs for hours BUT eventually stops, no doubt due to friction.
(3) Achieving the water wheel effect. I can visualize that it would work on this basis. That if they can achieve an equivalent to a huge bucket (heavy weighted load) of water always tipping forward, and then retracting back to a small form factor for it's return upward journey, then it would work.
If the machine has run for hours then clearly the objectives are being achieved. But as I commented in another post transferring a model into a giant machine would bring a whole set of new problems to overcome.
BUT hours of continuous running certainly speaks volumes. Rome wasn't built in a day.
Your mentioning of laws is what always keeps us within the square Simon. Laws become mental barriers. Laws are used as a means to control the populace and most people can't think beyond that. Laws are used by the scientific community so as to keep people inside their web of control. It's those who think outside the square and keep pushing the boundaries, and ignoring the laws, in fact saying stuff the laws, that keep moving the world forward for others."

While looking for more information about the RAR device on Brazilian websites and discussion forums - using "site:.br" in Google - I stumbled upon a link to the following youtube video of a hand cranked "free energy" machine. I'm not exactly sure what it's supposed to be doing, but I think it's amusing.

ETA: Wait! Maybe he's not cranking it after all and is just using his arm to hold it back to prevent it from going too fast! ...lol Ok, sorry... I'm sure that took the fellow a lot of work.

LOL It is enjoyable to watch. Artistic plumbing, in a round about way.

Running in my mind is the wise 'BesslerSquare Law' adventures:
BesslerSquare I - 'find' a device that turns and BUILD it!
BesslerSquare II: 'find' a device that turns for real and doesn't stop!
BesslerSquare III: 'find' a device that turns, doesn't stop and has energy surplus.
BesslerSquare IV: (gran finale) 'find' a device that turns, doesn't stop and REALLY and INDEED send important USEFUL energy power surplus, the so called Free Energy!!!!!
( at level IV, our Rambo is already 320 years old... )8)
Take Serious Care!

PS, edition to add: you all are kindly invited to meditate about above word 'find'...

Hey Ralph, rlortie wrote: I am more interested in what is happening to the one here in the U.S. We have heard nothing more about it. IMO it's outcome or development weighs more heavy than the one in Brazil. Have they ceased construction on it or is it being built?
Ralph
In another forum someone had found the location of the Gilman, Illinois site on Yahoo maps. So, I snagged the link and centered the satellite picture on the apparent construction site of the device (if it wasn't already). It appears the latest satellite photo was taken before construction began, though. I've not yet checked the location on Google maps' satellite photos, but the coordinates are in the Yahoo link.

I placed a yellow square where I believe the concrete pad is shown on their website. There is nothing but grass and dirt shown in the Google map.

Yeah, neither Yahoo nor Google seem to have a recent satellite photo.
You can zoom in a bit more on the rubble pile in Google, though, and it also seems to be from a different angle. You can actually see the sides of some buildings.

I zoomed in and found a watermark date lower right corner, 2013, but no month given.

re: Another claim to a working device...
it's the same photo. google's version has a barely discernible date across the picture in places.
the '13 date is a copyright date. the pic on the rar website shows the concrete pad butted right up to the fence:
they cleared the rubble from it to pour the pad and to take the new pic.

Okay, my turn! ...lol
It appears to me that the Yahoo and Google satellite photos were taken at different times. If you'll notice, some of the rubble has moved from one pic to the other.
Also, the pad does seem to be closer to the fence, but there may still be some pipes from the old rubble pile there between the fence and the pad.
So, it looks to me like the new pad is partly where some of the rubble used to be and partly where some of the grass used to be and they took down some trees or shrubs, too, to make room for it.
