Are Mythbusters paid to broadcast disinformation?

Post by greendoor »

I know it's only an entertainment TV show, and I know that they aren't stupid as the roles they play (see Adam Savage's Ted talk - there is a brain in there) ...

But I watched the episode where they did two very expensive experiments that are relevant to Bessler researchers: Newtons balls on a large scale, and whether a bird can unbalance a car teetering on a cliff edge ...

I've never seen such imbeciles in my life.

The money and time they spent on making Newtons balls of all sizes, right up to large balls swung from cranes over a dry dock. And never once did Adam ever mention Momentum, he always described it as an Energy transfer. And never once did he mention elasticity, which is the main cause of energy loss.

And the teetering car experiment - all the proved was that they never found the exact point of balance. If they had found the exact point of balance, then any small weight would have tipped it over the edge. Provided they allowed enough time for the force of gravity to accelerate the car ... with a very light weight such as a bird you are dealing with a very small force, but it is basic physics and they don't seem to have any grasp of it.

It's sad to see grown mean giving physics such a bad name. I can only assume that they are paid to promote a particular point of view that helps to steer people away from discovering the truth about the energy myth.
Anything not related to elephants is irrelephant.

Green,
not sure if they are payed, but TV grade follows what IS, or SHOULD be, or even FOR SURE soon will be in the head of public.

For general they try to conglomerate public attention inside a great pan of fear, relief and hope/expectation...

Other TV rule they use is to avoid one to think, so as that they have no shame to repeat zillion times same stuff and... they have to edict all the shit inside a fixed time block... and MANY times the guy who edicts is that stupid cold imbecile!

As you said, they are intelligent and I agree! Possibly they'll not find better/new options to share and need to be inside skeptic cemented brain consultants...

Do you have an idea on how could I see the matter you said about?
Thanx/best!
M

PS edition: Yes... all above and COSTS... maybe main desperate issue!
Thanx for the link Jim!
