Yes it is simple and thank you for a polite response.

Atwood's themselves produce energy; per experiments mentioned.

And the cylinder and spheres concept kicks the energy up a notch or five from there.

All you need is to catch the missile and feed it back into the Atwood's.

It looks like the MSU Atwood's site has been abandoned.

Ralph .. you should know by now that p doesn't want to do any math or confirm any experiment where the system wide Net Pe lost is greater than the sum of the system Ke's.

As you know taking any frame of choice (from a video) & accurately analysing for Pe & Ke differences from start conditions ALWAYS shows Net Pe loss > summed Ke gains of components, assuming a stationary start condition where Pe was given to the system to set it & only gravity force is acting on the system to activate it.

IOW's, energy expended lifting your sawdust from table top to give it Pe of position is equal to Ke of sawdust after falling to table top plus energy lost to air drag.

Fletcher,

Please forgive me! all I can do is laugh out-loud!

I must remember to release the sawdust from above my head so I can blow on it. This will take us back to the beginning, using a five horse powered blower operating an air table to see the gain in pushing air hockey pucks around.

Veo1,i assume when making these excellent replica's you "have a go"when building to try and make them genuinely work, here's a rough sketch just for fun which possibly without much modification maybe worth trying.....the first idea is a small diameter fulcrum "bar"(smaller the better) the second idea a very"shallow"button placed below and in the centre of the track plate...as i said just a suggestion....try with and without the "ratchet"fitted.....Good Luck
