Now that is cool and I wouldn't mind seeing the motion after. Can you move positions of the weights on the T bar or have them slide?

Nice model. Even nicer when it's working and driving the loads. Well done.

As daxwc pointed out, the two weights on the pendulum arms could be moved in order to set the unloaded (or very lightly loaded) wheel speed.

Beautiful woodwork! Too bad the wheel doesn't really work.

I like the locked down image...that is cool!

Fantastic model, two thumbs up. If I ever had time to build myself one just for my shed I call an office I would. All my spare time is to solve what goes inside. ;-)

Regarding the alleged cross bar sliding dampener weights:

Note that in the Merseburg side view drawing, the pendulum is depicted in an orthographic projection view. Why is it shown in this manner unless to point out something?

Here we see the possibility for the pendulum cross bar to to slide back and forth as the cross bar tips from one side to the other. This would not only change the length of rod to bob, but also move the location of bob COM.

Just a passing thought!

I would bet money that the ability to slide is important to the PM solution.

Beautiful craftsmanship - kudos to you - would also love to see it slowly turn.

It is my opinion the 'tee bar pendulums' never existed in real life, there is no report of them ever being seen, they only exist on that drawing and thats to pass on some clue/info. Regards Jon
