emblem or decoration ?

Post by johannesbender »

Do you think these carry any particular meaning on the inside
of a book of bessler , i do not know if there is more than one copy of this
and if the cover of his other books contain them too but just wondering.

Looks like a "watermark" in the paper.

It looks like a Fleur-de-lis with the number 1 on the left side as you look at it and a 5 on the wright.

It is like imagining things in the shape of clouds, ones imagination is the boundary.

My first thought was being as old as it is, could it be an impression bleed through from the embossing of the cover? Closer inspection rules that out!

Let your imagination run wild and maybe you will see Bessler's signature written twice, one upside down mirroring the other as I did.

To bad you cannot hit with a UV light, it may become a little more revealing.

Yes I agree, I see the CL. Now that I am more awake and alert. I was running a bit of fever last night.

well c and l would be 150 or 100 - 50 seperately ..

but what intrigues me is that these were symbolicly etc used for many things and even people of noble or royal liniage , i think you may know more . but why the cl and quite frankly why and who put it there .

hope you feel better ab hammer , i had 3 days of flu but the after effects are still persisting a while more

If so, C.R. is short for Christian Rosenkreutz. He is the allegorical founder of the Rosicrucian Order..

Here you will see many of Lord Verulam / Francis Bacons RC/CR watermarks.

https://sites.google.com/site/2000ceatt ... anuscripts

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Rosenkreuz

Bessler knew RCs secret methods, and developed them further, but it is not known if he actually was a member of the society. This watermark may make a difference. I newer saw the CR in those watermarks. Some watermarks need to be held up into the light (of course) to be seen clearly.

It could also have something to do with Karl or Caroli ?

it could very well be C.R , if it is a connection to RC then the symbolic meaning may be "the holy trinity" ..the 3 laws of alchemy
