jim_mich,
You might want to notice Curtis' use of "use to have" and "made" in his post. Those are past tense verbs. So, there seems to be a hint of a reprimand there for you, if you hadn't noticed already. So, I actually agree with what Curtis said, and hope you can try to be polite and civil from here on out.

Ralph and Alan,
I'll respond to your posts later, if you don't mind. I've been a bit uncomfortable with my chronic pain lately.

re: Tired of Jim_Mich ??
Jim_Mich is the nicest guy on the forum. I believe he wouldn't have produced a negative tone in any of his statements purposely or without justifiable aggravation.
Jim_Mich might not be a doctoral professor in mechanical engineering with a collegiate team of experts assisting him but I can tell that he is a fighter because he has ideas and won't let them be dismissed rudely. I like it.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

preoccupied,
Fortunately for you, you may have not experienced him calling you a liar or fool or cursing you out or pretending to others you were bashing him for merely pointing out his truly mistaken math and physics.
Just count yourself lucky, I guess, but beware. His "fighting" will lead you away from the truth if you think that what he has been doing is a valid method of getting to a correct answer.
Btw, I didn't dismiss his mistaken notions and math rudely. I did so in a polite and matter-of-fact manner as you should see if you were to actually read the relevant posts.

PS: jim_mich's "ideas" and his "fight" to defend them would have gotten him an "F" and a spanking in the grade school I went to. Well, if that sort of material had actually been covered.

Your lengthy oppositional explanations show veiled aggravation and you just dismissed that you were ever rude when you challenge Jim_Mich's math, in a very rude way by adding an insult. You might not think you are aggravated. Since you claim to not be rude, maybe you are passive aggressive. =-DFurcurequs wrote:preoccupied,

re: Tired of Jim_Mich ??
Limp Bizkit song "Break stuff" nearly perfectly expresses how I feel sometimes. I get aggravated that I am not acknowledged as much as I would like, not like here on the forum but in general. However, I would enjoy being acknowledged much more on the forum even though my ideas are sometimes stupid and I've got to be one of the more ignorant members.

I would be very happy to say, "I hereby acknowledge and appreciate your presence on (and contributions to) this forum." But I'm afraid it can't be so.
This thread is all about whether Jim_mich should stay or leave. Therefore your post is off-topic. Sorry. Maybe another time?
;-)

Jim
FYI - I voted 'stay'.
But... as far as I'm concerned, poll choices should be limited to single sentences. "His ideas are interesting" was almost enough to make me vote "don't care". Not that I don't find some of your posts interesting, mind you; it's just that stay, don't care, and leave, already say it all.

re: Tired of Jim_Mich ??
Your poll Jim should have asked; "Should I change my behaviour?" You might have got a more telling and totally different response, but of course that puts some of the onus on you and breaking a mirror is 7 years bad luck. 8P

Dax, such is the nature of the Follicular Reality Distortion Field. Don't be surprised if you get a visit from Independent Claus very soon. ;-)
Ed, in his attempt to be funny, comes across as insulting. Ed thinks it funny to make up his fictitious phrase "Follicular Reality Distortion Field"
I think Ed was attempting to make a joke concerning facial hair, but instead, he referenced the female reproductive system.
It seem Ed attacks me again. So who is the bully?

re: Tired of Jim_Mich ??
Can't it be both, since you think you're always the victim?
Jim, most everything to you "comes across as insulting". Since that be the case, one might as well do the crime if one is going to be accused all the time.
And the answer to your biased and mostly inaccurate search marker is "Still you".

My recognition is fine. I'm sorry that you are incapable of a real apology for your recent real transgressions. Making amends is a two-way street. You might want to try it sometime before the pavement runs out.

I think it's best to disagree to disagree. That way we will find the alpha dog in the group. I think Jim_Mich is an alpha dog and every time someone runs away and won't debate that they are like running away with their tails between their legs. Sorry, I could be wrong, I don't read the forum as much as I would like but it seems like Jim_Mich uses good logic and that just because some people leave the debates aggravated without accepting confutation, doesn't mean a good conversation wasn't ready to be delivered. Personally I am terrible with conversation but I enjoy reading what you smarter contributors have to say.
