Do you really have a glass eye? I was only guessing. I must be psychic. WOOOooOOoOOOooOo - psychic...Ed wrote:Laugh it up, fuzzball! It's a glass eye and I'm overly sensitive about it. Something comes to mind to add to my kinetic energy hypothesis. One of my favorite war archive footage that I remember from WW2 is no longer available anywhere. It's from a dispute between Adolf Hitler and his other leaders where they debated the best way to walk because somehow Adolf Hitler always had a really fast pace. They began testing walking and running and they started running ridiculously fast with a special method of some kind.
I hypothesize based on my kinetic energy hypothesis that they were placing their feet at the center of their weight to balance it on both sides. If they land on one side or the other then the hip and leg slows down the movement by absorbing force. I tried this before and I moved really super fast, like fast like a slow moving car, and I was barely moving my legs at all with each lunge. However I hit the ground really super hard, but my legs weren't feeling that force - the ground was though. I didn't lose my breath and ran about a block at this really fast speed and I felt like I was speed walking with more of a fast paced twitching motion. I did not feel like I was running even though that is possibly as fast as I could imagine a human being could run. What I remember in the war archive video is the NSDAP fellows testing their running method, making huge lunges with straight legs. Seems impossible. If they were doing what I was doing, they are just more brave than me because I would fear breaking my leg if I went that big of lunge from each step. The point of my running experiment is that I felt like I kept more momentum with each step because I was landing near my center instead of off to one side. I do not know if it is the same as the NSDAP leaders privately testing running methods in that war archive video. It's worth thinking about. What if humans can run 100 miles per hour by being more intelligent about it than the animals? I don't know.
