Ok James, you got me. I had a good laugh with your "reversed on appeal" image!
How 'bout you stop the long-winded last words and I'll still buy your book when it's available?
Deal?

I'm certainly not one to judge motives.....however, 'appearance' may indicate an accomplished aim at diversion.
This may also indicate that certain truths may have recently been ascertained and are now being exploited as we speak......
Simple truths have a way of cascading like....say....
A 'Savante' reciting PI.....I....I....I...
And if the 'unwashed rabble' were to have access to such simple, yet profound knowledge.....
Well, you get the idea....
Regardless of what the not too distant future holds for us all,
I hope to keep my hands and feet as clean as is possible.

As most of humanity suffers under tyrants, misled by the devil and his cohorts who've recently been thrown down here, nothing short of Yahshua, King of Kings, will remove these oppressors and bring everlasting peace.

Actually I was making a point about James' liberal use of Latin phrases, as if there were no English words up to the task! At the end of my message is a post script, wherein I say: "PS: I consider this somewhat pleasant, because of the fact that I don't know Latin.". I only know really little bits of German, French, Spanish, Latin, and Greek. Here is the rest of the rough translation:
(error: Foreordained). That's false, the public consensus was not fated, excluding miracles. Unless you think your previous actions, in the public domain, is a form of fate.
The judge was at the scene of the crime; the thing speaks for itself.
Words, not actions. Unless, you plan suicide? Either way, such theatrics!

Dear Techstuf,
THERE you are!
You shall forever be "clean", of this I am quite certain.
I notice that I am now one rating position LOWER they you are. This IS quite an accomplishment, is it not? Only ONE more to go and will have arrived, having only UP to go! What a blessed relief to not have to maintain a fancy rep., no?
I am curious; does anyone know what that might read as? 'Disrespected of BY ALL', maybe? I am going for it - totally disrespected and reviled, the fickle admiration of the stamping, snorting crowd being of even LESS subsance, even, than our lowly slaves' paper and zinc, right?
Techstuf, it was in semi-quotes so I don't know if you were quoting me or just doing a taking-off, but I wrote "Besslerian rabble" both times [and I MEANT it with all sincerity, with the standard TWO EXCEPTIONS of course; oops, now THREE]
Take care,
a/b/r, James

Three strikes means that you will be banned from the site if you manage to keep it up for a straight month. You're almost there. I'm staying out of it, as requested ;)I am curious; does anyone know what that might read as? 'Disrespected of BY ALL'

re: Case of Primemignonite (James) vs. Ed, now in session...
Dear ovyyus,
Thank you for the information. I'm still a little confused about one thing though; by what process does that rating go up to "Three strikes . . ." or down from it? Just according to the total number voting negatively over some period of time, or the percentage over a set length of time, or what? The "FAQ" doesn't seem to address this, or at least, not as I could find anywhere.
Also, you mentioned something about a ". . . straight month. . . ." Does this time period have a particular significance? Additionally, you state ". . .You're almost there. . . .". WHAT might this mean? I only joined a week ago last Sunday. This is nowhere near being the month you mentioned, straight of otherwise.
As for your declaration to the effect that ". . . . I am staying out of it, as requested.;)" you are, IN FACT, doing NO SUCH THING, ovyyus; on the contrary! Yes, there WAS my suggestion that you might, to which you explicitly agreed, and for awhile you actually DID (I thought to myself "now HERE is a man of honor and his word, he is actually staying OUT of the fracas!"), but as of the last two ditties you've aimed at me, you have departed greatly from your former resolve. I'm puzzled and disappointed.
Well, the fuss that existed between Ed and myself is winding down fast. Thank goodness. He offered a firm olive branch along with a word of good humor, and I've eagerly accepted his appreciated gesture. I think we are going to patch this up.
I know that you do not like me, but I will not say that I return the sentiment in-kind, despite the fact they you have now taken to hurling fresh, snide barbs, along with some veiled, implied threats.
Did I EVER attack or threaten YOU? The answer, of course, is 'NO'. I've only addressed and regarded you in a gentlemanly way; can you say otherwise and point to evidence supporting it? Sure, I ask questions, but that is not doing or meaning you any harm, but rather, trying to frame matters in reality instead of what's false.
And by-the-way, my conjuration and use of the colorful "Besslerian Rabble" thing, was ONLY meant to apply to the impulse of the beastly collective, and not to any one member or grouping of you. Stamping and snorting actions are those characteristic of the pack instinct, which IS brutal in-the-extreme as well as hierarchical; the new 'low dogs' laying low and keeping their 'place', or big trouble is sure to follow. Know what I mean?
Take care, and PAX
a/b/r, J. M.
P. S. It occurs to me that YOU might actually be ONE of The Excellent Administration? Is this so? If so, then all the more reason that you should have kept to your public resolve to remain neutral during the settling of the difference of opinions, as none of your interjections helped in-the-least. To what purpose were they? (I have asked this of MANY, but NONE have dared give a response! This shouts volumes.)
P.S. P. S. And one last thing: how might I take action to WITHDRAW from the (your?) BesslerWheel group? I've looked around a bit, but I can't find seem to find a button to click on, so as to effect an exit. Possibly, might it be like the arch-criminal Lincoln's compelled "Voluntary Union", in that 'once in, never out', unless THROWN out? I would like to PREPARE, at least, for my quick, personal secession, if it becomes necessary to do.

Thank you. I'm pleased that you got a good laugh out of it. Yours was a riot to me - I couldn't stop laughing for a while - seeing that judge pounding my head with that big mallet! In putting together my mock-defense, I grabbed everything I could think of, and threw it all into the pot, but I WAS preparing it under the influence of THREE Screwdrivers though, and so, it came out being a less-than-masterful result [grin].
Well, I am afraid that my long-winded last words may prove to be TRULY my last, sadly. It would be nice to get on with the search for Bessler's secret, but certain vicious factions are now conspiring to drive me out, I'm afraid. Ce la vie, non?
As Techstuf so aptly put it awhile back: 'a lesson in social dynamics', or words to similar effect. (He should have his rating impoved, but it probably won't happen as he speaks too much truth that punches through. Folks don't like that.)
Admittedly, I should NOT have been so fierce towards you for what you did, AND it should have all transpired by private communication. At that time though, I didn't know HOW to do it, honestly.
Take good care, ED, and
a/b/r, James

Don't worry, James. The best way to put all this behind us is to just stop discussing it and move on to Bessler related issues. I'm sure no one else will bother with you then.It would be nice to get on with the search for Bessler's secret, but certain vicious factions are now conspiring to drive me out, I'm afraid. Ce la vie, non?
Also, don't worry about your reputation getting lower. As long as we all recognize that we are guests on Scott's forum, and remember it's a privilege and not a right... then we'll all be fine.
I'm removing the negative mark I gave you earlier in the hopes we can move on and get to some good Bessler research.

Dear Ed,
Your words of consolation are greatly appreciated, and, my thanks to you for doing that, I removed yours as well.
This all sounds like a good plan to me.
Peace is busting out all over . . .

re: Case of Primemignonite (James) vs. Ed, now in session...
James, the information I offered you about the rep system was just that - information. A members rating goes up or down dependent upon other members actions upon their reputation rating - you may give rep or take it away (you have no vote from me either way). My understanding is that when a members rating reaches 3 red strikes, and stays there for one month, they are banned from the forum. I stated that you are 'almost there' in reference to the fact that you already had two red strikes on your rep bar at the time.
This is a new thread, I stayed out of the way on the other thread where the 'war of the roses' erupted, upon your request. This is Ed's thread and he invited member participation - actually you invited my participation too, but let's not go into that.
As to whether I don't like you or not, what's the difference? To be truthful, I don't really mind either way. "Are you helpful?" - now there's a better question.
I'm not a moderator of this website. But I do take exception to any newbie coming in here and calling us names like they know better and I will tend to speak up in defence of another member if I see them being lambasted unfairly.
James, I will never stay neutral just to please you or anyone else. I have to live with the fact that I'm very opinionated and I will have my say when I see fit, regardless of what you think or want. I think everyone here knows that. Your apparent authoritarian poetic airs have little effect on me - I'm virtually immune to all manner of hot gas ;)
As for an exit button from this site - why do you need something so stiff and formal - if you don't like it here just don't visit - leave. On the other hand, if you do - stay. It's all up to you, as it should be.
FWIW, it is extraordinarily difficult to get banned from this forum. No one has accomplished it yet and there have been far better candidates in the past than yourself.

Dear ovyyus,
Thank you for the information I asked for re: the "rep system". Now I'll know what's going down as it occurs.
As for your being ". . . virtually immune from all manner of hot gas ;)", that would make us, you and me, like 'two peas in a pod', that is . . . it would if it were not for the fact that you are that "virtually", and I absolutely. This is a distinction possessing of no mean utilitarian difference, and I am improved by knowing of it. Thank you for sharing.
Regarding all the rest of what you wrote there: 'studied and understood'.
You take really good care, ovyyus . . .
J.
