F.G.Woodward machine - Perpetual motion?

Post by POPSCAN »

Has anyone tried to replicate the F.G. Woodward machine?
This consisted of a large flat hoop suspended on one side with two roller bearings and the weight of the other side was used to keep the hoop turning continuously. You can Google F.G. Woodward to see what it looks like.

I suspect with modern technology and friction free roller bearings this idea might work. I am replicating it now with a couple of fresh ideas that kept it from working many years ago.

It has to be the most simple design ever. All you need is a large heavy flat steel drum hoop (Ebay) and some skate bearings as starters and you are on your way.
