ken.
that make sense to me!
i thought along those lines myself.
personally i would be little concern.
I also wonder if you have sort of regress to your dream step by step, looking over for clues that you might overlooked initially in your excitement, and before it "fades" from your memory!??...
i bet that under hypnosis things would "pop up" that you are totaly unaware at present!!.....
Ken i still think that dream was gift from "above" to you (off all the people!) perhaps you are underestimating magnitude of such reveling dream!?...
if i may say that, most respectfully?...
sometime we all are blind to obvious, and takes outsider to point us in right direction!!...
sorry if i sound little as "DEAR ABY"

Stewart...

Thanks for that line from Bessler's Apologia Poetica. Aside from the "little book", I have not read AP and was not consciously aware that Bessler ever did build air guns! This is really weird...the use of the air gun symbolism by my unconscious mind is probably something left over from my early readings in the history of science. I have only owned one air gun in my life. It was when I was a kid. It had a lever that served as a trigger guard and which had to be pumped several times to build up pressure in the firing chamber. When the trigger was pulled, it would fire a small 1/8 inch brass BB at high velocity that could perforate a paper target a hundred feet away...how my friends and I did not lose an eye or two I'll never know...

Zoran...

Yes, I suppose that some sort of regression hypnosis could help me remember the dream with 100% clarity...kind of like something out of the movie "Total Recall".

In that dream, Bessler showed my companion and I several inventions that he was working on during our visit. One, a locking pivot joint, I have a particularly vivid memory of and have described in my prior post that described the dream. The others are vague, but they were all wonderous mechanical devices that did unusual things.

The important part of the dream was the small, 2 foot diameter prototype for his later, larger, one directional wheels. As I previously described it, it was an open octagonal framework within which I "saw" 8 small weighted levers that had their pivots near the vertices of the octagon and their small ball-shaped metal weights resting on stops on the ascending side of the device so that the levers "pointed" inward toward the axle of the octagon. There were also springs attached to the 8 levers. However, try as I might, I can not recall the exact structure of this device on the DESCENDING side. However, my impression was and still now is that what I saw was a simple variation of MT21 and that is why I am now focusing my Bessler research in that direction.

Was my dream something of a "divine" nature? Well, IF there is a reality to a spiritual realm as the theologians would have us believe, then I guess that it is certainly possible.

However, I think my dream was more likely the result of my recent "total immersion" in Bessler research. Sometimes when one is struggling to solve some problem during their waking hours, they actually program their unconscious minds to work on the problem while they are sleeping. The solution that the unconscious mind comes up with is then given to the person in the form of a vivid dream that is filled with rich symbolism.

I am not worried about my dream "fading" from my memory...that is why I made sure I made a sketch of what I remember of the prototype Bessler showed us upon awakening and posted both a description of the dream and the prototype on my "updates" thread in the Community Buzz Forum.

I consider this dream was intended to get me to focus on a particular variation of MT21 in my pursuit to the solution of the Bessler mystery. Hopefully, in the next few days I will know for sure if what I saw in my dream was accurate or not...

Hi Ken,
Thanks for that line from Bessler's Apologia Poetica. Aside from the "little book", I have not read AP
You're welcome. I really recommend that you buy Apologia Poetica and learn a bit more about the Bessler story. He had a very interesting life and it's nice to hear about it in (almost) his own words.

Can I just put you straight on one thing. You keep referring to Bessler's "little book". I think you have taken this to mean just the metaphors chapter of AP. In that chapter, according to the translation in John Collins' book, Bessler says: "Those who are keen to ask questions should ask them of this little book.". The word Bessler uses is "Büchelein", which means a booklet or small book. Bessler is referring to the whole of AP when he says this and not just that chapter. The best way to refer to the chapter of metaphors is as "chapter 46". There are a total of 55 chapters in the first part of AP, in which Bessler tells his story. The second part of AP is where Bessler counters some of the claims/attacks made by Wagner.

Mr. Ken . Your reasoning is very good and close most of time..
However, here is where your theory is little off.
Thirty some years ago I was in dip financial struggle ,jobless and hopeless.
Under such heavy pressures on my poor soul, i dreamt: first price lottery number, which was: 3333
Usually I do not remember much of my dreams, but this time it was so vivid and I awaked dripping sweat from my forehead.
I sat on bead for while and thought how crazy and impossible combination is that!?
.One in trillions!?...
Four days latter lottery numbers were drafted, and guess what they were!??..
They were four trees (3333)
So then it is not symbolism!...
And I do not think that I programmed my unconscious mind, to venture itself in the future and arrange or change events that have not occurred yet!?...
Or simple travel in the future and gather data for me!?.
In either case, it is not symbolism, but hard reality.
Since then my dear friend, I have learned not to underplay certainly dreams
On lighter side I want to thanks, also to Stewart for his quote in the subject of air guns in BesslerÂ’s life.

Johann also places immense credit to his time spent working building organs as a factor in solving the wheel. I have bookmarked a websight that shows some of the intricate workings of the organs of Besslers time. The drawings of some of the mechanisms for the organs are almost exactly like the switches in some of Besslers drawings. The one thing that stood out to me, this would have aided him in the ability to maintain the workings within the 4" to 6" widths of his first two wheels. These organs used many styles of switches and levers that had to be placed meticulously within a confined space and not interfere with the other switches and levers. Copy...paste and check it out!

Thanks for clarifying this matter for me. I have visited several websites wherein chapter 46 is referred to as the "little book" and that is probably where I got the usage from. I think that some of the confusion results from a line at occurs AFTER the word "Buchelein" wherein he refers to a rich shower of words that have to be understood or something to that effect. I think that line gives one the mistaken impression that the "little book" IS the following chapter.

Yes, I would eventually like to read all of the excellent Bessler literature that John Collins has available if my interest in this subject continues and I can find some extra $'s for it. Until then, I am going to keep my major research focus on trying to find the most probable internal design for Bessler's one directional wheels using WM2D.

Zoran...

I am impressed with the winning lottery number that you dreamed about...I hope that you had purchased a ticket for it!

I have heard some remarkable stories involving dreams and I do not discount their importance completely. While I think most are the result of troubling present circumstances in one's life, on occasion they do seem to give one a view of the future or the solutions to unusual problems. I'm just hoping that my dream involving the design Bessler used IS accurate...it would be nice to FINALLY have the mystery solved. Then we can all concentrate of improving Bessler's design and getting a LOT more power out of his wheels.

Ken
I did not fine main ticket and i locked ALL over for it in city of Panama.
ALL i found is 10 tickets with last two numbers (33) of winning lottery number , named so aproprietly "consolation price"! they paid $10 bucks each!...
You see, there was snipper in my dream too!......
"Sniper " it was yang lady at bank, that i have given her my wining ticket ( in my dream) and when she started long walk with it ,down very ,very long hall, i suddenly felt fear that she wont be back with my money, i quickly shouted at her: "Hey, where you are going with my ticket !?, she turned around from half way of that long hall, looked at me for second, and replied very impersonally:" to CUBA!...... "
RIGHT THERE KEN, I NEW THAT I GOT MAYOR PROBLEM!.. (probably not being able to find ticket with such number....)
and that is exactly what happened

Maybe just before the next "Power Ball Jackpot Lottery" drawing over here in the USA, when the jackpot is up to about 200 MILLION US dollars, I'll take a big dose of Cilantro with a glass of warm milk and settle back for a nice short nap. As soon as I dream the upcoming WINNING jackpot numbers (including the extra "Power Ball" number), I'll wake myself up and write it down immediately. Then it's off to my nearest lottery ticket vendor. I won't waste money buying more than one ticket...that's the minimum needed to win!

Hello everybody...
I have failed to make my idea work in a model. One weight goes well, but having more than one move the way I had them moving, stalls everything.
So, the race is still on........

Robert...

Sorry to hear that your latest design failed to operate. I've been there many times myself. However, I find that each failure is helpful in that it gives one ideas for new designs to explore.

My recommendation to you and anybody else would be to download the free version of Working Model 2D and become familiar with it. For simple mechanisms its use can save one a LOT of time and energy. I've even reached the point myself where I will no longer undertake a physical model's construction until and unless I have a WORKING computer simulation for it.

I agree with Wheeler. If you have completely given up on the design, then posting an image of it here could help others avoid an arduous trek down the same path.

Everyone should listen to Ken

Take the time and all the stress and download, then learn wm2d.
This simple cad program can be learned and used for ones ideas.

I still do not have it understood, but every moment you spend with it will give you more power as time passes.

You can use it for many trial and errors before building.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed. Didn't feel like doing anything for two days.
On the bright side though, it has helped me to eliminate a broad swath of stuff to not try any more.
I have wm2d, but prefer to build, so I can see and feel what's going on, like Herr Bessler did.
Since you all are using simulation software before lifting a finger, it won't be too arduous for you if I keep my idea to myself a bit longer. It's a good idea, just lacks execution prowess.
I'm on with another idea now, and will be building away soon.
Now have all John Collins books. The one," Perpetual Motion...", I find the most helpul because I can get into Bessler's head after reading about how he was, and the things he wrote to other people.
My continuing opinion is, he created the real deal, and quite simply, let it go to his head.
Reading about his life was like watching an Alfred Hitchcock movie. At every turn I wanted to tell him, "No, no, don't go in there, the monster's gonna get ya!!!!"
So many lost opportunities and potential. Started out ok, but every body got tired of his attitude. No rason to forever think of him as a sham and fraud though.

Hi Robert:

I truely feel the disapointment with you, I had great hopes that you had found it, I think that you should go back to your first design and give it a second try as I truelly believe that the answer is there because a somewhat similar design I made in WM2D plus a hand sketch and simple mathematics showed me that it would work and be over-balance all the time. The offer still stands if you are intrested or if you even remember what that offer was or if anybody is intrested I'm willing to share but being that it is such a sought after commodity I hope you don't hold it against me to try to protect it as an intelectual property with the signing of a NDA.
Again, sorry to hear of your failure.

Hello again brothers and any sisters?.. ( those are the ones that I prefer greatly!.) Brothers can be just so boring, and the girls in another hand areÂ…
Oh yea, bring you pardon!. ..Actually I like to invite you to my shop and meat me close up?.. Hey not too close!.. Ok?.. So my guest of honor would be: Mr. Ken for reminding me of don Quixote in his noble persecution of bessler secret!.
Old dear bird Ralph that is scary with his vast knowledge and cleverness! Robert that is wood worker as myself and is enough of man to admit publicly that his wheel didÂ’t work!
Robert
It just makes you stronger and little smarter.
Just hear Mr. Ken, and do not feel bad!....
Bessler did not do it at first try, neither!!..
Just do not hang at k mart too much!. it is not really good place anymore!
And then every body else, as a mother of fact all forum is kindly invited
But wait minute !, I live on paradise island 8000 miles away from you guys!!... so airplane fare are little bit high, to get in here!!.. no worries mate!.. I just send you some picture! No not the girls !, you uncivilized apes!. I meant of my shop!.
It is very humble ,and I am surrounded with large spiders, cats ,dogs and bunch of chinese contractor workers!..
Roof leaks when heavy reins and is only carport rig !.
But I love it neverless, and I am solely king in kingdom of my shop ( sounds like something Bessler would say!?..)
Hey!.. JUST RELAX.. I am not claiming that I know how Bessler did it!!!.......i have no clue!
And frankly my dearÂ…Â…..
I think just the fact that he done it, is good enough for me!..
I will try my own ideas and arrangements !..Thanks
OK!..OK, HERE ARE TREE PIC FOR NOW!!!...
Had little difficulties compacting it under 250 k.,just with paint j peg so had to resort to good old “paint shop” to resize them once more!
Is software like “photoshop” ,but friendlier!...
And I just love it!......
