Signatures only show up on a person's first post on a page and not in subsequent ones (I imagine it prevents cluttering up the page.)

It's only relevant if the word has any importance in decoding information. Like you, it seems, I prefer to spend more time thinking on actual devices and building them, rather than spending time worrying about possible codes.

Don't worry, I've got the code thing covered ;-) (and they do exist.)


As far as the blank spaces in lines, they were probably put in for the reader to fill in for their own amusement:

"So-and-so is a --- --- "
