Bessler star signs

re: Bessler star signs
Hey all
Out of interest, I visited the site that Silver Eyes mentioned, punched in the info, and had a read through. It's actually surprisingly accurate! a lot of what I read there rang true for me. I especially liked these words, which I thought fit well with the search for PM:
"You are attracted to radically new ideas, philosophies and religions that will, hopefully, cause sweeping changes throughout the world."
"For your entire generation, this is a period of intense research and discovery in areas that were heretofore considered mysterious, remote or taboo. The root causes for many complex occurrences will be unearthed due to the intensity and thoroughness of the search."
So that's interesting, but I do take the whole astrology field with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, it's further encouragement!

re: Bessler star signs
I found an online ephemeris and checked out all of the positions of the Sun, Moon, and other planets for Monday, May5th, 1681 with reference to Zittau, Saxony. This gave me an approximate idea of what Bessler's natal horoscope would have looked like.
I was a little disappointed. Both he and I only had the Sun in Taurus and Venus in Aries. I thought that there would be more of a convergence...
As far as astrology goes, I find it interesting to read, but do not put much faith in it. I think that when one is impressed by a description of their personality delivered in a natal horoscope that they are just reacting to the parts that are accurate, but ignoring or rationalizing away the parts that are not.
I think in life, at any point in time, what we are, have, and do is largely a matter of random chance. Yes, genetics and environment play a big role, but even these tend to be randomly determined...

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

Interesting point !
Like balls on the pool table?
The balls may contain hard spots and soft, but each ball can not move unless by chance another hits it.
I am not sure this is the whole picture. I think we can move or choose because of our connection to a universal pool of knowledge.
The random chance theory seems to contradict your research and details of design you use.
If random chance is the process, then why not just through a bunch of springs, balls, weights, and maybe a capacitor or two into a post hole at the intersection of 30* north and 40*south and PM may pup up out of the hole. Maybe not?
In some cases random choice works, like power ball, but most things are a process of thought and movement.
Take a car. Thought/ then move materials into place.
Just a thought

You've done it now Ken! A statement like that is like waving a red flag at a herd of bulls. You'll get your very own topic for that one - quick, hide! LOL

re: Bessler star signs
Yes, I know it's a hard pill to swallow...the idea that all that the human race has achieved, is achieving, and will achieve, could be solely the end product of the random forces of nature at work. But, then again, when one really thinks about it, IF we are merely just a special subset of matter in the cosmos classified as "living" then, like the rest of the universe, we are, ultimately, only matter in motion. We can not do, have, or be anything that is not allowed by the inexorable laws of physics.
Of course, a lot of this could be modified by whether, at the most minute organization of matter, the universe is "deterministic" or "indeterministic". That is, are processes on a submicroscopic scale in our cosmos taking place via strict cause and effect laws or are they random in nature.
Modern quantum theory states that these submicroscopic processes ARE random in nature and only begin to obey describable cause and effect laws on the macroscopic level. On the other hand, classical physics has always assumed that any submicroscopic processes can not be random, but are, themselves, obeying precise cause and effect laws. Einstein was a firm believer in the latter view and so am I. That is what he meant when he said "God does not choose to play dice...".
However, and quite frustratingly, in a cosmos that is infinite in extent and duration, even precisely deterministic submicroscopic processes, over time, will lead to a present reality that has a certain amount of randomness built into it. We are daily made aware of this by such things as lottery machines, "freak" accidents, and unexpected "blessings" which suddenly come into our lives.
While the cosmos is basically deterministic on the submicroscopic level (in my opinion), most of the macroscopic physical situations of life are so complex with regard to the interactions that take place between the pieces of matter involved, that there is an inevitable randomness that we can not avoid. Sometimes it is to our benefit and sometimes is not. We may safely drive to a location and enjoy some activity there or we may be injured or even killed in a car accident on the way to the event. The physics of the situation is precisely determined, but, because we are unaware of ALL of the factors involved since, from a "practical" perspective, they are unknowable, we can never be completely sure what will happen on any given hour of any given day.
I guess the bottom line of what I am asserting is that while we can plan to achieve great things and hope to use the generally reliable laws of physics in the textbooks to achieve them, there is, ultimately, no guarantee of anything in life. However, we seem obliged to continue on as though we had free will and could precisely determine all that is happening to us and to those around us and to our environment. Many people will be fortunate to have exceptional lives...they will build PM wheels that work, write famous books, or walk on the surface of other planets. Most will somehow muddle through their days managing to get their bills paid and their kids through school and employed. Others, quite unfortunately, will die young or suffer from debilitating health problems, live on the streets, or lanquish in prisons.
I can see only one possible non-divine rational escape for humanity from this quixotic element of randomness that keeps us on an emotional/physical roller coaster throughout our lives. We must learn as much as we can about the cosmos, sharpen our reasoning powers and memory, maintain optimal physical and mental health, and strive to construct a reality for ourselves and others that is filled with as much meaning, accomplishment, and hope as possible. In this way we can have some hope that a "Golden Age" will finally arrive upon earth wherein humanity can enjoy an existence that is totally free from worry...

Well said Ken. I wish I could be around in about 500 years to see the dawning of the "Golden Age" of humanity :)
re: Bessler star signs
Ken, what can I say , you said it all.
However on a brighter note for those who are stuck in todays reality ,the horoscope gives some of us a diversion that may or may not help us . For me I like it when it tells me something I would like to hear but on the other hand I dismiss it when it does not.
I too am an Aquarian and on my refrigerator I have the following daily horoscope Which I clipped from the New York Post (a bit of a rag) a while back.
It inspires me , and I hope it will inspire my fellow Aquarians to continue the battle.

I'm so sorry Turulato and others, for some reason "Pisces - February 20- March 20" didn't take and now I can't edit it in.

I just had a thought John, since this topic is somewhat esoteric and you created it I was wondering If you would take another step into the great unknown or would dismiss it as "poppycock" :-)
There is a program on tv over here called "Psychic Detectives".
Some detectives working on unsolved crimes will enlist the help of certain psychics that they have had success with , and continue to use them when all else fails.
They give the psychic an object to hold that belonged to the dead or missing person and the psychic picks up information that he or she recieves from that object.
Sometimes the information is uncannily accurate and leads to the finding of a body or the murderer of some poor soul.
Well I was thinking that since you have an original copy of Das Triumphirende owned by Bessler himself then it would be interesting if a psychic were to be given that little book ,with no knowledge of what it is and who once owned it. What then would come out of such an endeavour?
Well??

re: Bessler star signs
John OWNS an ORIGINAL copy of Das Triumphans...!!! Wow! That must be worth a fortune. I'd be afraid to let something like that out from under my lock and key!
The psychic ability that you are referring to in your post, Graham, is known as "psychometry" which is the picking up of impressions and mental images from items owned by another person. I made a brief study of it for a book I did on paranormal phenomena a while ago. It seems to be a REAL phenomena, but I do not think that it works with paper. Most of the items that psychometric psychics work with tend to be metallic objects like jewelry that may have been on the person of another person for extended periods of time.
Wow...I still can not get over John owning a genuine 280+ year old copy of Bessler's pamphet. I'd even be afraid to open it and risk the pages getting damaged. Well, quite fortunately, John has made it available in a modern book form so that it will be preserved down through the centuries along with the fascinating story of Bessler and his inventions...

Thank you Scott. Aquarians seem to be in the majority so far, but it's difficult with such low figures to give any weight to the results.
Interesting thought Graham. I'd certainly be willing to give it a try but how do I find a "reputable" psychic?
It's my most valued possession Ken and I do look at it evey month or so, just to have the pleasure of touching something held by Bessler.
