Never had reason to believe he did! Direct questions came back a wee bit twisted. Reminds me of another member who claimed he hoped to have a runner no later than today!eccentrically1 wrote:It veered off on the first page. Maybe because FC doesn't have a working wheel, I'd guess.
Guess maybe we may have to wait until spring for me to have my turn in the barrel!

Nobody has a working wheel. This is a social networking site for people with a common form of OCD.
going back a few pages ...
going back a few pages ...
You can also take Marchello's numbers, paste them into a spreadsheet, and let Excel graph it for you.Marchello wrote:hmm, ok here's some new. Angle per time.
It lacks some data near 12-o'.
For all your manual labor I've precalculated the [x,y] in inches.

Guess you can't figure how to separate lift and power strokes? Try having them effecting different radi from center, instead of the exact same path.rlortie wrote:Never had reason to believe he did! I don't have OCD. I'm just a control freak!

A 2D mandelbrot/julia is basically a Complex number squared, and then creating groups of oscillating coordinates with nice features. We can clearly imagine brot-circles as being shadows of a sphere, but standard spherical formula's or quaternions (4d-complex) fail to produce the desired effect - possibly related to a branching problem (complex-squareroot) which does not exist in simply squaring circles; So basically it's a problem of squaring a sphere (most probable: no cubes involved). The latest mandelbulb-variety obscures that problem by scrambling 8 times. What is a 3d equivalent mandelbrot (z2+c) , and why is It
considered impossible?
Basically I consider this mathematical impossibility (of finding balance in chaos) as a counterpart of Perpetual Motion as the physical impossibility (of finding imbalance in order). Thus when being stuck in one I swap to the other.
Grimer had an epiphany about whirling whirls. At least such fractal-forms relates at some point.rlortie wrote:what pray tell does Mondelbrot (z^2+C) have in connection to "Fcdriver having a working wheel?
So basically: Totally not related... total chaos... totally intertwined?
Note:Let Excel graph it
Time 0 is when the bob is at its lowest point,
I also set the angle to 0 at that point; basically not usual !
So at the bottom of that list:
Field time: =-A13
Field Ang: = -B13
And copy down as much as the list.
One could do a copy/paste-values and sort that list.
Because of that angle, Sin/Cos are flipped
Field x: =+20*Sin(B13*pi()/180)
Field y: =-20*Cos(B13*pi()/180)
And copy down

Back on topic?rlortie wrote:As my 11th year anniversary of belonging to this forum approaches, I cannot recall a thread getting so far off-topic as this one!
This post on the first page is basically what I understand from the carefully laid-out easteregg-like info scattered around. There should be an advantage because a weight travels up some slope... I don't see it either.

I'm just interested in a lot of things.

That cannot be right, that means the power stroke is 2,959 percent more efficient than the lift stroke (reset being 100 percent). Wherein all here would be happy with 105 percent efficiency over the reset, so I hope you can understand why it is hard for us to believe that is what you are getting.Fcdriver wrote:In changing the harmonic motion of lift to stroke, what do you get? Separating the two, and turning it 90 degrees. The rate of lift being a force against rotation, will equal 32 newtons, while the power stroke will equal 947 newtons.

I admit to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and I know others who also admit being afflicted.
It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn thy answers to questions said to be impossible.

Sounds like manual overload to me!Separating the two, and turning it 90 degrees. The rate of lift being a force against rotation, will equal.

How much force does it take to move a weight on a 2 degree incline? If you double or triple that force, for the down stroke, with mechanical advantage.Trevor Lyn Whatford wrote:That cannot be right, that means the power stroke is 2,959 percent more efficient than the lift stroke (reset being 100 percent). Hi, FcDriver,
All paths are equal, only to drive a wheel with a longer reset path will give you timing issues, and a very low RPM.
There maybe a way around all paths are equal, in that I think I found two ways to over come it, but I have not shown my experiments yet, thus quite rightly nobody believes me yet, which I fully understand because it is up to me to prove my theory, but even what I think I have found, it is only double the reset.
So until I prove to the world my theory's, I to have OCD, but even if I build a working Bessler wheel, I will still have OCD. That maybe why I am not keen on inclines I just want to make them level, curves I am okay with, even more so of the female kind.

It doesn't matter what the theories are. If it works as claimed then theories will follow.
I second Mark.
You've had it working and surely enough time by now to tart is up - especially with the mild climate you have in Gloucester.
I've been wandering round Gloucester on Street View - lovely spot - wish I lived in your Middlesex and not in mine. .... :-)

Built the stage yesterday, putting plywood on roof today, will be moving the wheel first of the week, by Friday I hope, I'll be readyMark wrote:Mr. Driver
Can you provide an estimate as to when the paint will be dry?
