I think someone tried that. The springs/rods/weights won't spring back to where they start, if I'm picturing your idea correctly.
If someone tried it, I'd be interested in seeing a diagram of their configuration because I think it worked closely to the way agor95 described it. I think the timing of the spring tension and the correct direction of the pendulum arcs are critical to it's success. Also, Bessler mentioned pulleys in his description. The pulleys could have been located at the rim of the wheel to direct the motion of the pendulums using cables of some type. They also could have been mounted in the axle to reduce the friction of cables passing through to the opposite side of the wheel and also for the cross bars as well.

I am thinking JC wheel implementation is a conceptual variant to MT135.

During a speed read some time ago.
There was a diagram of people on swings around a wheel.

The people would have been compressional springs in this context.
There would need to be a bar between opposite people.

The variant is the swinging legs component.

I think the forum can work together to model the MT135 dynamics.

There is no reason why a spring & rope under tension could be used instead of a spring only. It would be lighter, cheaper and the spring would be more portable.

With people on swings etc the person provides additional energy into the system by way of muscle (chemical) energy, to change the MOI and angular momentum to pump the swing.

If gravity only could achieve that change in MOI and a reset could occur without additional energy sources being introduced then a self pumping swing or a wheel could eventuate, I guess.

I hear what you saying and it's a direction I will have to put on hold.

It is tricky to evaluate a swing like method.

Best to keep it simple.

Also it is best to keep the energy source as not yet defined.

If a method works then we need to keep the door open for the Theoretical Physics Smart-Set.

If we do not then it is only going to brew up some trouble.

Big Troubles Brewing For The Theoretical Physics Smart-Set!!!

We need to keep the door open for the Theoretical Physics Smart-Set.

Newton's force X mass = acceleration is used for general purposes.

However it requires modification for close to speed of light movements.

Well there needs to be modification for small size and duration events.

The formula needs to be modified to be applicable for quantum behavior.

We would not see any effects; however LASERS, Light Emitting Diodes & strong magnets are all implementing these quantum effects.
