The reason why I am struggling with my search for a wheel is because Bhaskara was the Hindu Intellectual who originated the PM concept, and I am a Hindu of Indian lineage born in Mauritius.

The Bhaskara wheel and Bessler wheel are like "Dark Matter"....its not about what you can see its about what YOU can't see....all that we are taught in Physic's restrains our natural instinct to see the "obvious",the solution is to be found in "simple mechanical applications"remembering the basics..."what goes up must come down".....

A wheel with spokes...hmm.....why would we wish to "clutter"the only available work space with spokes or an axle....lets call it a hollow drum with fixed end plates to an axle which does not pass through the hollow drum with suitable apertures(adorned to look like spokes if wished to give the appearance of a spoked wheel) to affix our mechanisms to the interior of the end plates....It was not beyond the scope of a good woodworker or engineer to manufacture a sturdy hollow drum such as this even back in "Besslers"day....So lets change the mindset and look at other possibilities...spokes will only inhibit anything within the drum as will an axle by passing through..

Always the thought for the reason of the low speed R.P.M.of the Bessler Wheels comes to mind.....was the mechanism so delicate as say, Karl saw its sturdiness and ability would be questionable.....i believe this to be of importance to the various ideas discussed in blogs here....the question of the low power and the effect of C/Force surely is a pointer to the solution...

Agor 95,the "key"is simplicity in its self,power comes in at 9 0'clock and delivers until 5 o'clock then withdraws and "freewheels"until 9 o'clock and the cycle continues...It is weak and fragile ,can self start if set at 12 o 'clock or a pushstart..a large wheel will give more power(flywheel effect)and using windlass mech.will do limited weighted work....c/f i ASSURE you does send everything at a higher r.p.m.of i rev. per second into disarray........

1. "key" is simplicity in it's self.
2. Power comes from the mass moving from horizontal down to at least
5 o'clock angle.
3. A one rod implementation is weak and fragile.
4. Self start is possible. The light push is a friction breaker.
5. A larger wheel gives more power [mass not size].
6. Using the wheel can do work within limits.
7. Rotation rate needs to be controlled to prevent disarray.
8. Inertia of masses in the wheel does play it's part in spinning the wheel.

Those boxes being the media we use to communicate.

On another thread on this site "Riortie"comments on" width for height"and rightly so....he also mentions what i consider most important ....the inclusion of "momentum"to achieve success in any design of this nature.....this will make up the "loss"experienced in transference....

The expression used by many here is "closing the loop"..always when reading this,"The differential windlass" sometimes called "the chinese windlass"comes to mind........just a thought..

So ,inside this hollow drum,lets think about this workspace...how can we "drive"any proposed mech....how to mount it without it "spinning"round with the wheel....we don't want it the same speed as the wheel.(or do we want it static).....a floating "backplate"attached (ballrace )to the interior of the fixed backplate.(elliptical mounted?)should suffice that requirement...and to "drive our mech. a "friction"roller drive to the interior of the revolving drum wall surface (disengaged when our mech.is'nt driving)(5-9 o'clock)........the mech.we'll discuss later...

Understanding this simple mech.,we must look at the problem first then the solution....How to" return"our controlled free falling weight which we shall use to drive "independently "the wheel mass from inside the drum...and return it without causing "interference"to the revolving wheel ....i know how to do this...but alas there is one small piece i have to deal with ...that is connecting the "force"of the falling weight "back"to drive the wheel ..easier said than done....i'm busy at the moment with my other work and will complete when time permits...hopefully in the next couple of weeks
