I get these same bearings by shopping thrift and second hand stores for used roller blade skates. I have purchased pairs obtaining 16 bearing for as little as $2.50 up to $6.00 per pair.

The Bones Red bearings I am using are $5 USD for a pair brand new.

Its the 16 x one way clutch bearings that are of much greater cost, but without them no leverage whatsoever.

Hello Paul,
I tried something very similar to your idea many years ago.I took some matching ratchet wrenches and (using some jb weld) attached them to a bike wheel. Thought it was a sure thing! But what ended up happening is that when the weight on the descending side flung outwards,it actually slowed the wheel due to it's change of direction.Then by the time it became a useful lever it was already at 6 o'clock and thats where the wheel keeled.Maybe you will have better luck.
