The Dominant Flywheel - are springs better than the gravity?

Post by Rafael Ti »

I think yes! And magnets are better too I guess. Using them it is easier to get higher RPM and therefore the power.

Parametric oscillator.
Oscillator in our physics, even a parametric needs some energy to keep the oscillations up, because there is no pure resonance in our known world. But this one looks even more than "pure" because it overcomes the (real!!!) force of friction :) So... where is this additional energy coming from?
Conclusion: we are NOT existing/living in a closed energy system... we need to realize that there are many forms of energy permeating our world. Energy we can, or can not (yet) utilize.

Hello Rafael Ti,

What do you think would happen if the crank pin were put on the bottom without any energy put into the flywheel and the spring were allowed to impart energy into the flywheel?

Do you think the flywheel could take that energy and return it to push down the spring and have the spring send it around a 2nd time?

What do you think?

Thanks
Daniel

@Raj good question - energy source

1. Structural stress oscillation with differential vector.

The pin pushes the spring down from a side swipe.
When the delayed spring return happens.
The energy push back more to 90 degrees.
That is a more favorable direction.

2. Momentum transfer from earth to device.
[no method to prove this option]

cannot help much on the above question, but for what it is worth:

The adjustable brass weight used on the spring looks like a "stair jack"
A carpenter uses a pair of these on his framing square. They are used to mark the slope cut for rafters and rise and tread width when building stairs.

I have a 84.5 pound flywheel made in the same configuration as the one seen in the video. Also have automotive suspension coil springs. I may attempt a little research into this in the future.

@rlortie

If the desktop device was made and sold; I know it would sell.

I look forward to your build.

Remember a component part is shock wave resonance.

I am thinking a little simulator and web page would be interesting.

This should have less complexity than other devices.
