Because nature is lazy, those weights are never going to slide soon enough to turn your wheel.

If you attempt to understand the physics and retain as much information as you can about B's wheels and his clues, and the witness accounts, then we think surely that is a better omen for success than any other ad hoc approach to solving this mystery. I subscribe to that.
And learn from others mistakes, coz there are far to many for you to make in your life time by yourself. That starts by analysing others attempts at PM devices such as Denver's latest attempts IMO. The analysing of others designs prepares the mind and increases the knowledge of both. A win win.

Doing both opens up neural pathways and opportunities for lateral thought that might otherwise have remained closed off to you.
Simple mechanical solutions require more thought than complex ones, no wonder it been so hard to find.

My torment from last night!
Well, it didn't fully went as i wanted but there are quite a number of interesting things about these new ideas. There is an oscillation that actually drives one of the models i filmed. I was surprised cause i didin't planned for it, nevertheless it is....
more testing is required....sooon!

Also without being able to tell where the system com is you are just shooting around in the dark hoping to hit something.
Just spend $25 and get a 6 mo subscription to WM2D then you will know where the system com is.
Then if you notice the com going down you know your design is no good!
The only thing sliding weights are doing for you currently is to lower the com, fooling you into thinking something is happening.

Everyone is now confusing I am also.
There need some more deep watch.
We can feel it is very close now.
But I feel it will take some more time to find out.
Now I am building examination base plate.
Today I finished to attach a cross-bar to the wheel.
I used linear motion guide to implement cross-bar.
Result will be shown after much failure.
I am sure the wheel will not work by simulation.
I am doing things without interruption.

VisitorV, showing the Center of Mass (or Center of Gravity) should be a default function in such a sophisticated program. I read SpaceClaim has scripting capabilities, so perhaps you could otherwise calculate such weighted average of location yourself.Also without being able to tell where the system CoM is you are just shooting around in the dark hoping to hit something.
It's important to know, because it shows which way things try to accelerate (or decelerate).
Knowing where you want that CoM to be in order to gain overbalance, and you'll know which way to move your weights.

Maybe a couple questions for you:
Is your current wheel still based on the 4/1 lifter you showed a while back?
Did you ever simulate the 4/1 lifter and were you able to show the CoM moving up?
That would be fantastic if true!
Also I believe you said the 4/1 lifter works like a pair of vise-grips.
Thats a little confusing to me since vice grips use a long handle throw to produce a tiny grip throw with a huge pressure.
Very nice work on your wheel - it seemed like it was almost working in the video!

yeah , ur right, chain or rope or belts would fix the issue with the linkage but that's all for now, perhaps there is something more to this but right now i have no clue :)
