Hey, i've done a bunch of more simulations, compacted them into a 10 min vid and some more are coming the way.
Well, about the sinc i think i've done it in some of the new simulations, hardlinked :))
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkWyw05gUYw
i'll have a break and post more later

Hi TheVisitorV
You use now two Flip Flops, great.
I use it in a different way, so that I have a control of the swinging.
The upper flip flop is heavier, 2 times more than the bottom flip flop.
therefore the lever length to the upper flip flop from the center is 1, to the botom flip flop is 2.
It oscillate forth, swith, back, switch.
You will get a selfsustaining swinging.
Have a look to the drawing.

Hey silent, yes, the materials play a significant part into all these things but that is something way beyond my software. Right now i'm trying to figure out all possible combinations and their effects in this setup. What i can do and what i will do is try and play a bit with the proportions, but it's a bit hard to control the entire setup if i don't do the right calculations beforehand.
Hey Georg, after i finish all combos with the current setup i'll do these as well, thx for the idea!
here is a new video with more combinations:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLnpH5UiI3U
Next combos will be different weights on pairs, as in the left one bigger or smaller then the right one.

ok, so this is the last part from testing almost all possible combinations, that i can think of in this mechanism.
Some will say it is a roberval balance, yes it is. might be part of something more...i do not know...for now.
well that's it for tonight :)
goodnight all :)
have fun!

tomorrow is a special day :) i mean today, i mean when i wake up!
Am i mad for believing that i figured it out? again? is it how i deceive myself every time?
i know why the crossbar, i know why the pierced axle, i know why the links, i know why the springs, i know why the weights, i know why the bang on descending side. i know exactly wtf is going on... and shit i can't even get glad about it anymore....and there are 2 more elements and fuck yeah it works with only 1 crossbar and it needs no push no nothing....
May God rest Jim Mitch, he sent me down a rabbit hole and the light came up into my mind. No idea if he figured it out...but he got me thinking.
i'm loosing my mind, but shit....this is actually quite ingenuous =))))))))))))))
and the best part is that i can simulate it, lol. pfffffff
I hope you guys will give me a bear at one point, the world won't give a shit but....anyway :))
can't say i'm 100% certain anymore after being wrong so many times but if this works, and i'm pretty sure it will cause there is nothing that special about it and no reason not to.
Get your tools ready! that's all i'm saying!

It would be less offensive if you would moderate your language VisitorV.

re: What MT 138 Really IS!
Unfortunately, our foul mouthed visitor will not be able to discover anything of substance because his software is not capable of calculating the com location.
He can continue to take wild stabs in the dark but since he has no clue where the com is cannot evaluate or document any progress toward a working design.
Any demonstrations of partial operation mean exactly nothing unless one can show the com is not descending.
Similarly our visitor cannot show any device operating under load as his software is not capable of simulating a load or even air friction.

hey guys, i was busy with other stuff,
my prototype was a bust but i discovered 2 very interesting and useful stuff, one related to the angles of a particular type of linkages and another one related to "springs"...in a way. the second one is actually quite useful and even though i'm sure some of you thought about it i never seen it implemented in any prototype, unfortunately.
The software predicts and calculates to the "mm" the COM of any object, had many designs with an error smaller then a mm and the axle would swing that way. Me being able to visualize it, yes, it's an issue, but in the end in the real world i wondn't have this ability neither...
even if i messed for countless hours modeling and assembling stuff i never went into the scripting part of the software. It takes time and frankly is hard and i just begun...
Simulating a load is not an issue, i can simulate that exactly the way bessler did, air friction, i do not know but i can increase friction, yet i see no point into doing that, when i will find a proper model i will simulate it under a decent load and if that works and all makes sense i guess we will have a go into the real world.
The software is not perfect by any means but it provides a stable and quick platform for prototyping and gives the chance of anticipating issues that would fly under the radar in other conditions.
I do have a dirty mouth but i'm not sure why everyone is so sensitive these days, everyone taking words so seriously and offense so easily while no insult was addressed to anyone in any way shape or form, not even close. And this is not something addressed to JC or CC, just in general, people are so hypersensitive over nothing...
We've been programmed since a small age to react to certain words in certain ways, and while i surpassed this nonsensical issues, i see most people still stuck in a behavior instilled into them unconsciously, never asking themselves, why do i react this way or the other when i hear this word and not the other...
doesn't matter...
this thread is about simulating different possibilities that hopefully will lead us to something useful.
