Gearing problem...

Gearing problem...
I need help :
How to connect two wheels so that they both rotate in the same direction, either clockwise or counter-clockwise, without using any gearing teeth or pulleys?
Does anybody knows a system that can do this type of wheels connection?

re: Gearing problem...
If you don't want an intermediary idler gear, or 8 shape belts etc, then an alternative is friction connections.
However I think you mean something else. What about connecting wheel sets like a locomotive (e.g. steam train).
Parallel horizontal bars connecting wheel sets ?

Thanks a lot, Fletcher.
Please explain:
how to do a friction connection and what is a parallel horizontal bars connecting wheel sets that will rotate two wheel in the same direction?

re: Gearing problem...
I am seeking a mechanical two wheels connection, without using gears/teeth or pulley/belts, such that one wheel rotates twice as fast as the other.

Hi Raj,
the only possibility I see is, that a small wheel is rolling in a bigger wheel.
Drum in a hollow drum.
Depending on the diameter of the wheels you will get your gearing ratio.

Thank you Georg.
I need the two wheels to be rotating on axles.

DrWhat, thanks for inquiry.
No, on separate axles.
No mechanism between them.

I think I have found a unique way of constructing this speed doubler mechanism. It has to obey a strict measurement requirement.

Problem with choosing the right speed doubler mechanism

After lots of trial and error drawings, I found a way to achieve this speed doubler mechanism, and carried out some physical modelling.
IT WORKS.
No gears and no pulleys/belts, and two wheels, one can rotate twice as fast as the other, rotation ratio 2:1

I guess you still need some kind of gearing, how else are they supposed to stay in sync?
Maybe could try magnets at the rim of both wheels.
Or, once again, the sliding alternative:

re: Gearing problem...
Raj, if there was a better, less friction method of doing so, wouldn't we see it on a bicycle by now?
. I can assure the reader that there is something special behind the stork's bills.

Thank you Marchello.
You are right.
On 12/11/2018, I did say that I have found a speed doubler mechanism that did not use any gearing or pulleys, as shown in the drawing I posted in here then.
That speed doubler system then, was using a set of strings to pull up and rotate the small wheel at twice the rpm of the larger wheel.
What I have found NOW, is a completely NEW way to achieve speed doubler such that one wheel rotates at twice the speed of the other, without using any gear/teeth or pulley/belt.
I think a clue I distinguished on this forum, shows that Bessler MAY have used this type of speed doubler mechanism in his wheels.
I shall post drawing of this SIMPLE new speed doubler mechanism, as I always do, soon.

Look at my drawings and compare it with Bessler's headstone...

Head stones are, as far as I know, ways to remember a person's best deeds in lifetime.
I am wondering when was BESSLER'S head stone carved.
If it was carved after his death, there must have been somebody who remembered his famous wheel works, to have a wheels system carved to have Bessler's works kept alive.
If it was carved before his death, then obviously, Bessler must have his head stone carved himself, to have generations to come acknowledge his works/invention.
