Then there was this, where a slider weight (steel tube) in a linear bearing rises up and down because it is attached to a fixed point on the table. So as the pendulum swings, relative positions change. I have a ratchet system which maintains gained height, but it's clumsy. Needs a proper engineer to work on it.

Anyhow the "OB pendulum wheel is what I aim to get back to working on, it's fun.
It won't ever be PM, the aim is to buid something very unstable which produces energy. That would be very useful in a "gusting wind" environment. Being able to exploit input which isn't enough to drive a continuous input/output thing like a windmill.
