Hey there .. roofers use those all the time. Try to borrow from a tradesman/builder. I just use manual tin snips tho not as tidy or as easy to use as the electric cutter.

Failing that take it to an engineering shop, or go to a hire center and get one for a half day.

Thx Fletcher, i kind of fixed it for now with a hand tool, not the best job in the world but it's decent enough.

I'm testing it now and looks like it works :)
i'll need to cut it a bit better, need to print some corners for it to encase it somehow cause it's pretty sharp, already cut my self on a finger, it's 0.25mm thin. Luckily the hardware store is nearby cause i wasn't prepared for it...i was so scared when i brought it home cause it seemed so sharp and it was also tensed from me rolling it a bit so i can carry it, had no gloves no protection of any sort. A 1 meter by 2 meters galvanized sheet. Cheapest thing i found but works great for this application, 2 bad i couldn't find thinner.

Monday i will return to the secondary project, i'll try and print out the arm that holds all those gears, i'll make it stiffer and bigger, wanna see if i can use the entire surface of what they advertised 33x33

Good luck and have a a nice Sunday everyone!

Managed to print the big wheel :) It's not that great looking, kind of rough but probably because the PLA i've used is crap, still need a few bearing and some screws and the wall support. But this side project to help me calibrate the printer is almost finished.

this side project is oh hold, it's a semi success but i won't pursuit it for the time being. I've learned a few things from it and it's ok, but wasted to much time on it and my sanity is slipping through my fingers. Hope i'll manage till the end.

I've return on the main project, done some adjustments and already started printing some parts, i'll have something to show in a few days. From messing around with gears so much i forgot that things can be much simpler when you use pulleys so basically i managed to put both weight on the same axle witch should prevent any back and forth due to the spinning.

Hope i'll be able to gather my thoughts and do as much work as quickly as possible.

Hi

It's best you keep your first 3D product. You never know when you become famous it will sell on Ebay for allot more then you expect.

P.S. famous as in youtube followers.

Nice work. I started 3d printing this year and your print is more complicated than anything I've tried. Annealing might make the part you said was flimsy a little more rigid.

it's been a week already?

It's getting harder for me to focus, it's been a hard week...
I've been lonely for so long that i got used to it so much but this week i couldn't hold my emotions in line.
I'm starting to have doubts if this is really worth it. I will fulfill this mission no matter what, i am so close but still so far from my true desires that burn fiercely into my heart.

I know why i'm on this path, what i've done and what not, but at the end if those that we did it for in the first place are here no more then can i ask you, is it worth it?

Long and sad nights, longer days still, longer months, they all go by not to ever return, until the night remains for what it seems forever, and you get used to see in the dark but never stop to miss the light. That light, you know of, the one that keeps you warm inside, the one that makes you when your sad to smile, the one that gives you reasons to live no matter how far gone you've sink into the abyss. longer years still, a long decade...

Now there is no light no more, just memories of it, memories that fade no matter what but the more they do the more in love i've become of a dream that was once true. Had to give everything that was most dear to my heart to pursues this insanity that still has no fruits with the exception of turning my mind into warring factions. I've plotted for so long the day i'll be free with my brothers for the first time, and now i'm almost done, almost there.

I'm here, ready, to play my part but don't you dare to say it's free, cause even if all this knowledge i give away without a dime, the price i payed is eternal, and it's not only time but my place i've lost as well into the only heart that ever loved me the way i love today and even more.

I took my mind and waged war against an empire built on paper, i'm sharpening my tools and soon i'll crush one head of the beast, perhaps i'm insane perhaps i'm David, i dream to much but i really feel i'm ready. I'm ready to defy and die like a fool if necessary, but i can't just keep waiting.

Fucking 20 years almost since i decided that i won't stand by and try to do my best to help this world, but was it really worth it, i don't know yet but i'm inclined to say no. No matter what the final result will be, will it work or not i don't think that was it worth it.

My friends, the ones i've grew up with, some are gone, completely, some just left, those that remained behind, are married, some got children, homes, cars...i could have had all these thing's myself perhaps even more but it was not what i was looking for. I was angry, and frustrated of the ways people treat people in this place, of the endless lies and genocides and mostly what i find the most annoying is to see people standing by and wait for those that enslaved them in the first place to release them back into the wild. It's like asking the wolf to be a dog, you can fool yourself easily, as both look much the same, but one is gentle loving while one remains a beast no matter what you do or say.

I can't shut up, i can't stop doing this until i'm dead or done, and if i can't so let it be, i might be a failure, might be a fool, but one thing i am not is a heartless traitor to our human cause nor a coward when the sacrifice is demanded of us. So be it, what other choice i have, then suffering, so i will suffer until all tears will turn to diamonds or death will turn my body into flowers.

I'll never give up but until that day
i need to worry about it day by day.

Note To Self: Strange days, nightmares, all the same, all grays, marching in the cities, fried brains, future futures down the drain, everyone is going bat shit crazy, no reasons just tensed muscles and schism.

Back to work...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXchjgA ... e=youtu.be

Ok, so the first module is almost done, from here i will derive all the other measures for the machine since i had to build it around those metal disks that i had from my previous failed attempt. They were the only metal parts very similar in weight and shape and compact enough that i had or could easily find and use. Also around the bearings and a few less important stock parts.

But things are good, finally moving in the right direction, i need now to figure a way to get my open belts to closed loops. Found some good info online, it shouldn't be that hard...i hope

Also the ratchet system will be kind of hard to make, i know how i want it now in some ways it's a lot simpler then the previous versions but not easy enough :)) what keeps me up is that it will work way better then those in the simulations since it's not trying to force anything but rather to twist.

I'm glad i left notes here, at one point i couldn't even remember. Some times i'm so happy my memory doesn't store/recover that well, right now i couldn't handle it. I'm happy i'm stupid in this way, being in this situation and having all the memories flooding my mind the way emotions did in the past week would crucify me if it would happen at the same time.

And the rim...this one will take a while to print since it's quite large. I figured out a few tricks to reduce the time, but i don't know if i can get the precise wood cutting that i need in order to make it. still uncertain about this....

but things are moving in the right direction. My emotions are starting to settle and i can finally focus on the work i'm doing. I hope i'm not to late, i'm so slow...so damn slow...

I'm also happy, in a few weeks i'll figure out if i'm bat shit crazy or not, at this stage in my life i think it's more important then anything else...am i deluding myself, am i walking the fine edge of sanity or am i completely gone lost and without hope.

I hope that by Friday i will order the long rods to the size i need them to be, from there things will go smoother....

this idea with the belt might prove a bad idea, not sure what is wrong yet but seems that the timing pulleys that i printed allow the belt to slide to easily, anyway, i'm printing new pulleys with deeper groves but might not be enough, also i will go out and see if i can find a 10mm belt instead of 6, the extra 4 mm might offer the extra friction/grip that is necessary

damn, i was hoping i finished with this part for the most part...bad luck...

Edit, i think i need to go for t5 belts instead of gt2, the teeth are much bigger, almost double so the grip will be much stronger.

i think i'll start redo all models for the pulleys i'm using, they look much the same, well 4 of them are the same but the other 2 are different from each other as well.

printed a t5 pulley to look at the teeth and overall aspect, huge difference. I'll try and go tomorrow to buy 1m and see if it really is what i'm looking for and after that i'll have to order in china or somewhere cause the price here is ridiculous, and i need like 7-10m of it. as funny as it is 1m here is like 5m on aliexpress...what really sux is that it takes alot of time....

anyway, when i wake up i'll try to move as quickly as possible to find an answer.

that meter hopefully will be enough to test a full module and see how it goes.

this is such a bummer....

3 million people live into this city and i can't find 1m of t5 belt, great.

Ordered 10m from AliE, they should arrive in my country in 2 weeks or so but i was to the postal office today to ask what is going on with the other stuff i'm waiting for, it's been almost 2 weeks for 1 pack that arrived in Romania and still no news.

Well the answer i got is....overcrowded, not enough staff members etc...great...It seems nothing is going smooth, story of my life

Anyway, now i'm trying to convert all pullies to t5 instead of gt2, but the softwares keep acting up. My main cad instead of importing into metric keeps changing all defaults to inches. I'd say i'm loosing my mind but that's gone already.

Hopefully by the end of the day i will change all timing pullies and then if there is any life in me left i will start to take measures for the rods. Maybe i'll get lucky and won't drain all life out of me and i'll manage to do other stuff as well, or at least these things.

I'm starting to spin in circles.

K, so i converted the pulleys finally, printed 2 of them, they are nice, much bigger teeth, more spacing, definitely way better grip. T5 belt seems to be used in CNC applications so it needs to endure more pressure, but i'm not sure if the plastic pulleys i'm printing will offer a proper surface for the belt to "stick".

Also ordered another 4m from a store somewhere in this country, i think it will arrive on monday. I'll be able to cut that belt and use chunks to test and try to joint it. It has reinforced steel wires, don't like that much this aspect since i have to splice it. Hope it won't cause more trouble. Until then i'll do all the parts that i can do and prepare to mount them together.
