A friend is need

Post by FrankenDuck »

I`m sure you have heard this countless times before. I have discovered how to raise a say 5lb weight using a 2.5 second weight at a 1:1 ratio. I know it sounds impossible but according to Algodoo it works.

Many years ago I had a copy of WM2d and now I`m looking for another to verify my findings Can anyone help me with this???

I was looking into this concept in this post here:
viewtopic.php?p=170576#170576

Drop the lighter mass at 6 o'clock and raise the heavy mass at 12 o'clock.

Had a spreadsheet that showed the gain here:

Tried various sims based on MT005, MT011, MT141 in the ensuing posts.

I think it was raising the COM of the system briefly, but could never get the weights to reset without giving back more energy that it gained, so the energy bleed off and the system died down.

Thank you Wubbly but not what I`m looking for. Have you any experience with Algodoo. Can I trust the results?

I believe that algodoo can give false positives, which are hard to track down and quantify.

Try looking in the Tech Support forum for topics on WM.

I'm sure there are legitimate copies to be had. 'Interactive Physics' is the same program available for schools etc at a very reasonable rate. Just change the file extension to WM file extension to be a WM file I believe.

A simple Milkovic 2 Stage Oscillator can do that.

I don't think it can Z.

If it could, it would be quite simple to create a working wheel with the principle.
