Could this be a form of OU
Investigators baffled.
In the tiny village of Canneto di Caronia in the province of Messina in Sicily 12 houses had to be evacuated after a spate of bizarre fires left investigators baffled. The trouble first started around the middle of January 2004. Electrical appliances such as televisions, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners would just burst into flames for no apparent reason. Even mattresses and chairs have caught fire in a series of extraordinary incidents that authorities say are entirely with precedent in this area.
The phenomenon became so bad that some locals fled the village entirely rather than face the uncertainty of life with its constant threat of more fires that spring up without warning. Remarkably the fires became so frequent that the area fire brigade took up permanent residence in the village.
Dispersal of electricity.
Canneto which is a pretty little village of 150 people has since been the subject of intense investigation. At first experts believed that the cause of the fires was a dispersal of electricity into the surrounding area. As a precaution the electricity supply was turned off but all to no avail. Even appliances not connected to the mains would suddenly burst into flames and locals were desperate for answers. Some believed that the proximity of an electrified railway was to blame but when the power was turned off the strange happenings still showed no signs of abating.
Panicked residents.
At this stage panicked residents began to fear the phenomenon could only be of supernatural origin and planned to call for a priest to exorcise the evil spirits involved. Experts however reject the idea of supernatural involvement insisting that eventually a rational answer will be found even if so far they have no idea what this could be. Investigations to discover anomalous variations in the electro magnetic field around Canneto have so far proved negative. Other planned tests involve seismic and geological probing though once again preliminary results show nothing that would account for such a large number of inexplicable fires in just one small locality.
End of the matter?
Eventually after one whole month of uncertainty the fires that terrorised the inhabitants of this tiny Sicilian village at last began to disappear. However at the time of writing -12 th February 2004 - no one in Canneto is daring to hope that this will be the last of the matter.
Poltergeist activity.
The reality is that spontaneous fires afflicting mechanical devices are not altogether unique. There have been many other well documented instances though these have largely been attributed to single houses and for a whole village to be affected is rare if not unknown. In many of the other instances the phenomenon was blamed on poltergeists and was accompanied by loud banging and flying objects. Cases were habitually centred around young children who - according to psychic investigators - were the channel for these strange forces.
House burnt in North West England.
In a recent case in England a house in Lancaster was badly damaged by fire after a potato chip fryer suddenly set itself ablaze. Previous to this the family of the house who were rescued by fire fighters reported disturbances to most electrical appliances. The television would suddenly switch channels and even turn itself on when not connected to the mains. A large number of other disturbances made it difficult to work any device powered by electricity.
Elusive answers.
It may yet turn out that here as in many other cases such as Canneto there is some rational scientific explanation behind these bizarre accounts. In paranormal circles however such things have long been known and documented. It proves that for all our knowledge there are many things in this world that still continue to defy our best attempts to investigate them.

Maybe, I guess it depends on why it happens. I heard of this case before, but I can't remember if it has since been resolved.
Disclaimer: I reserve the right not to know what I'm talking about and not to mention this possibility in my posts. This disclaimer also applies to sentences I claim are quotes from anybody, including me.

I, too, have heard of this case before and wondered what the cause could be. What happened there could be explained by the phenomenon of EMP or ElectroMagnetic Pulse. But, one must detonate a atomic device to produce an EMP which then travels out and induces such massive electrical current flows in distant electrical circuitry. The pulse then literally burns out the circuits and sets fire to the equipment containing them. I do not know if EMP are produced with underground tests of atomic bombs, but, if they are, then maybe, somehow, the EMP's from an underground test somewhere else on the Earth were able to travel through the Earth like seismic waves do and emerged where the town was located.
There is also a complex theory to explain how individuals can set fire to objects in their environment and this is a, apparently, well documented phenomenon in the paranormal. It is related to the process that allows a person to "psychokinetically" move objects at a distance from himself. Basically, the person's circulatory system can emit a form of sinusoidally varying non-electromagnetic radiation that is picked up by objects in his environment and turned into self reinforcing alternating surges of current flow that then heat the object until it combusts. The phenomena has been loosely correlated with the presence in or near dwellings of women with a tendency to have short outbursts of temper.

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

Gives new meaning to PMS.
As most of humanity suffers under tyrants, misled by the devil and his cohorts who've recently been thrown down here, nothing short of Yahshua, King of Kings, will remove these oppressors and bring everlasting peace.

re: Could this be a form of OU
Strange as it may sound, I do believe that PMS plays a role in the process! During episodes of PMS, blood vessels can become prone to spasms that can cause vasoconstriction. With vasoconstriction there is a big increase in blood flow velocities through the smaller blood vessels and capillaries in various tissues. This increased blood flow may actually electrically charge the red blood cells to produce electric fields inside of the blood vessels. The removal of electrons from red blood cell can result in moving electrically charges that then generate magnetic fields. According to a theory I developed many years ago, it is combination of electric and moving magnetic fields that generates that new form of non-electromagnetic radiation that I mentioned in my last post here. This radiation would then be directed to nearby objects by the woman's unconscious mind as it subtly controlled which blood vessels generated the radiation. And, the final result would be a variety of well know paranormal effects such as psychokinesis, teleportation, and, even, the starting of small fires.
Of course, the person responsible for all of this is not consciously aware that they are doing it. The effects are only being unconsciously directed at objects in the environment that may hold some unconscious significance for the person. And, when the person that is causing the paranormal phenomena is removed from the scene...the phenomena promptly stop.
This phenomena, like many others in the field of the paranormal, needs to have much more study done of it...preferably in a laboratory setting. Unfortunately, due to the random and rare nature of paranormal phenomena, our study of the subject is still progressing at a snail's pace. But, hopefully, as interest grows in the subject, this will change in the future.

After reviewing the above posted link, I spotted this at the bottom and thought about recent activities here.
I admit that I should have read this about three weeks ago. :-)

A related rule, which can be used to slice open conspiracy theories, is Hanlon's Razor: ``Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity''.

Ockham's Razor is, indeed, a powerful tool to guide the researcher and his motto of "Pluralitas non est ponenda sine" or "Entities should not be needlessly multiplied" tells us that if we have two possible descriptions of a physical system that both make identical predicitons about it's behavior, then we should choose the simplest one to investigate.
Of course, that does not mean that the simplest one will, necessarily, be the correct one and, if it is not, that fact may, eventually be realized and that description discarded.
In the case of the secret mechanism that Bessler used in his self-moving wheels, we must imagine that all of the prior attempts to duplicate it over the centuries were the simplest ones that could be conceived at the time. They failed and now we must move on to designs that are a little bit more complicated in nature.
Consequently, in my own research, I have moved on to systems that will employ two weights acting together in a set of 8 mechanisms within a wheel. I'm hoping that by slowly increasing the complexity of the designs I consider, I will eventually find what most of us here are looking for. I know that mechanism exists and is supposedly simple enough for that "carpenter's boy" to fabricate. But, like a person walking toward a wall in a dark room, I do not know if I am very close to it or still very far away...

I'm sorry Murilo, in my haste I completely stuffed up the spelling of Ockham - Doh! :)

Hanlon, Heinlein....whoever he was, he obviously had little experience with politicians, who dance gleefully on the edge of his 'razor' every day.....or did he?!!
