Maybe if you used pumpkins?

One problem everyone has to deal with is a further edititing of that liar Newton's 3rd law
  • for every action eventually there is an alleged reaction . . .
This example of one of Newton's many blunders can be summed up by the term latency. One might think everyone knows that! Yet I disagree. It didn't cross Newton's mind but if he gave the matter sufficient thought he would have said so.

He didn't.

Hello Leafy

It is good you are focusing on the fundamentals. Any proof will need to have a solid basis.

In your sketch I choose too work on the principle that the ball is moving toward the wall at a constant speed.

The wall and floor are moving up at an accelerated speed [gravity: add 9.81 m/s to it's speed each second].

There is a lower foundational principle that explains gravity. For now we can treat it as an acceleration.

So when the ball hits the wall you are watching the impact standing on the floor. So you are accelerating up.

Therefore the ball appears to hit the wall with a curved trajectory. Then the ball starts to roll along the wall before bouncing back. As the wall is also linked to a floor.

I appreciate you want to look at the instant the ball interacts with the wall and floor.
However there are no instantaneous events present only our wish to keep things simple.

The ball floor interaction is a ball travelling at a constant speed horizontally.
This so happens to be the same speed as the horizontal floor movement.

The floor is accelerating up as before and the observer appears to see the ball drop vertically and hit the floor.
Then it bounces and no rotation is imparted to the ball in this process.

In the interaction a period of time passes were the ball deforms. This cost energy but that is the cost we need to recover by another process.

The deformation allows the ball to reverse most of the speed when the two objects connect.
As you point out the ball speed in rising up is overtaken by the acceleration of the floor up due to the effect of gravity.

Can we do something about this?

Well imaging the ball hitting the wall then after hitting the floor.

The impact with the floor is at an angle and the ball is also rotating when it deforms.

Note. A rotating ball dropped vertically bounces up at an angle and rotates in the reverse direction.

In the case we are studying the ball makes contact deforms and rotates.

Luck would have it the floor has a mini-step so the ball bounces of the side of the rise.
Thus the bounce is not lost by going up.

The ball moves with more speed horizontally hit the floor due to the floor acceleration and deforms again.
What a surprise another mini-step and again floor acceleration is converted to ball momentum along the floor.

We are running out of floor!

What happens if the ball moves into a curved bowl with mini-steps on the inside were the acceleration due to gravity is used. As the ball speeds up it starts to use the curve of the wall and it's mini-steps.

P.S. It is amassing how these steps appear just at the right place.
This concept as been 'whispering' to me for some time since looking at the MT124 engraving.

All the Best - keep thinking.

The idea itself is not bad.

What is necessary is an additional sideways move of the pumpkin.
if you see the ground as a lever, then the pumpkin will jump sideways on this lever.
In effect it is an extension of the lever arm.
Every jump/rebounce is extending the lever arm.
Every jump/rebounce will transfer energy to the lever until at the end the pumpkin will roll.
So you see that the lever must be able to move so that the bouncing energy can transformed to torque.
Best regards

The idea is a force riding on the inertia. Like a hammer hitting the anvil. Gravity riding on the hammer inertia during impact.

Tarsier79 wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 12:42 am Good luck exploiting that. As soon as the wall absorbs energy instead of returning it, the ball bounces less high, so the energy gained by the wall has to be returned to the ball for reset.
Tarsier,

I think that was at the heart of one of the many blunders that liar Newton made, specifically as soon as.

Reality might respond semi-instantaneously, yet not instantaneously.
  • A reaction always lags the action that caused it.
This LAW was driven home to me the other day when I was adjusting some parameters of an action getting way more than the necessary rotation to bring the sys CoM back to 0,0 . It dawned on me when I managed to spin the wheel about 350 degrees.

Still short.

To those listening 🎶

Attempt to violate this LAW at your own peril.

I'm saving my best work for the book. I want to ship a model with every book.

The guy who figures out PM better hide because the powers that be will be so upset at the interruption of their revenue stream, they'll have his head.

Besides, people will just copy the invention once they see it if it's ever revealed.

I read about a guy who had a new ratchet wrench he invented back in 1986. The business was Constagrip Inc. in Oregon (inventor Ken Cartwright a machinist) and it was a zero-backlash wrench. He had USA and European patents. He had a German aviation facility truly interested. The family financially backing it wanted all the action and so things were tied up in the courts so long, the patent ran out and nobody but the lawyers got a dime. If this is how people handle a meager wrench, what do you think you're gonna get with a PPM patent or licensing? Not a damn thing or at least nothing to make it worth your while.

I think a full reveal on youtube to the world for free would be the best. Doing it anonymously would be ever better and then just kick back and watch the world burn. Scientists will be butt-hurt because their cries of fraud and declarations of impossibility will have been found out to be false. If something is 99.99% true, it's not absolutely true therefore it becomes false.

I'm convinced enough that I've found the solution that I spelunkered darn near $200 on parts found in other mechanical items that I can rob to build the mechanism. So far, I'm pretty sure all the parts exist out there ready-made. I've contacted an electrical engineer I know to design me a circuit that can use solenoids for the triggering system so that I can time it exactly how I want. I'll start with the truly mechanical PM, but since that is prone to wear which can eventually throw the timing off, using solenoids, batteries that recharge from the on-board generator on the wheel, and a sensor (like what is used in drones and smartphones) I hope to be able to tighten up the timing. The shotgun shoots and the bow twangs!

I shared the plans with my brother who said, "I don't understand this."

Truly, if you can't comprehend complex cyclical loops, how ever in the world could you ever hope to have solved this? My experience with 4 stroke engines in a multi-cylinder environment was key to helping me understand the wheel. The weight movement is simple, but the interaction between the weights means you need dead accurate timing and a way to adjust it (as Bessler himself indicated.)

Oh and another way to try to make a buck is pull a Ken Behrens e-book manuever and convince yourself that a bunch of sticks and strings makes something move in more than a simulator. The real Bessler wheel takes right off and there is absolutely no question about it.

Right now, the only people who truly believe I've discovered it are my wife and my co-workers who are all rooting for me. They've been nothing but kind to me over the years when I've talked incessantly about it. These people will see it first and then I'll decide what to do from there. Once you see it in action, there will be no mistaking that it's not A solution but THE solution.

I can leave you all with this - not once in the 4 years I've been on here have I seen *ANY* mechanism with the proper hub/axle. Bessler said his axle had compartments and was pierced all over with many holes. How true that statement was!

Finally I must give Almighty God the credit. The solutions came to me in a series of dreams coupled with much thinking. I believe in the Bible and all that is in it. Although I never prayed for the solution, I started praying daily over a year ago asking for help in other areas and giving thanks in others. I can't guarantee I've got the solution, but the evidence is abundantly clear to me in that Bessler's clues fit. He really did find it where others had looked and if they hadn't given up so quickly, they too might have found the solution.

I'll be giving things a good long think about a reveal because those who have slaved a lot longer than I over a solution will feel jilted, jealous, and will seek revenge for what they wished was theirs. That's why I think giving it away for free anonymously and making it obvious that it's in the public domain would be the best. Then just kick back and enjoy the show.

Hi silent,

If you succeed, don’t forget about us. Send us each a few million dollars lol. I’m sure you’ll have ton of money and no place to spend. Lol.

Soon the world will reconsider PM. We need to be a step ahead.lol

Thanks Leafy. I'll still stick around here because I know some people would love to have the solution, but maybe get some clues to help lead them down the path. Bessler had no intention of letting people know his secret that easily. He knew darn good and well that once you stumble upon the correct weight arrangement, the rest just falls into place. I struggled to come up with the trigger mechanism, and yet there before me in one of the MTs was the answer and it's just brilliant and simple. One of the MTs is actually used as the trigger and not as the weight distribution method he portrayed it as.

Anyway, I was discussing the mechanism with my co-workers and I've said it numerous times that the solution has wonderful potential in 3rd world countries where they have no power and no way to make life easier. I think that is where the benefits from it will be felt the most. In the USA, I suspect people would be MEH about it and move on - electing to just keep on buying their utilities. Who wants to maintain their own noise machine for making electricity?

This really isn't true perpetual motion. It's only a machine that functions on the differential between potential and kinetic energy. It lasts until the springs fail. It converts gravity into motion. It's a great lesson learned in how to take a constant force that is being applied in one direction and turn it into rotational energy - kind of like the gravity equivalent of a water wheel. It's too bad people didn't have this available in the old grain mills years ago. They wouldn't have needed to be located near any streams to make it function although admittedly water provides greater power. But then there is that flood thing to have to contend with.

I've tried mocking this up in LEGO. I'm one of the oldest known builders of a real working LEGO air engine. That's even a thing now with some wonderful inventions of those found on youtube. I've tried building a mock-up of the mechanism, but LEGO just is too spindly for building the framework that the weights sit in. I've got an assortment of aluminum tubing for arrows so now it's just figuring out how to hook this all together. If I had a CNC router, I could probably make some of the parts out of wood, but the spring pressure required necessitates that metal be used for at least part of the mechanism or else the holes will oblong and tear out.

For what it's worth, the Waenga Wheel is kinda sorta part of the solution in that springs were used, but how they are hooked to the wheel is all wrong.

The mechanism really is not much more difficult to understand than the workings of a cuckoo clock. I've been watching clock videos as of late and thankful that the solution isn't near as complex.

Another thing I thought of is that I could simply take appointments/charge admission to show it working. Nothing hidden, but you'd have to make the trek to see it, sign an NDA, have no recording devices on you. It would bolster tourism in my little town and good airports are 90 minutes and 3 hours away. I'm sure I'd have to hire round-the-clock security and even so, the guards would probably wind up dead or missing if not the mechanism itself. The tourism side of it would be great though. I think the first person outside of my close circle that it will be revealed to is John Collins since time is ticking and without his help, none of us would have gotten as far as we did. In fact, if he wanted to fly here to see it in person - I'd pick him up at the airport and give him a free place to stay so he could watch it run all night, take notes, sling the bull, talk about the differences between Australia and the UK, etc. all over a cuppa.

For sure a reveal to those who have been kind and supportive to me will be done. I think what I hope for the most is moving on so I can quit thinking about it all the darn time and put it to use charging my batteries!
