Re: agar95
Yeah it never arrived (the PM), ohh well I'll let the story out in another format or maybe 5 years from now, maybe I'll build it and if it works I'll do what Bressler did to throw thinkers off the track, however if anyone wants to hear a story about what I found about Bessler's wheel just comment that you would like to hear it, don't Judge, or condemn the story, don't twist it, don't kill the messenger, be cool, I never built it so don't ask me about my model, I'm giving this information freely from my memory, I give it to you and YOU build it and see it it works, fair enough?

I'd like to hear your story king lotar. Any information is helpful even if it's not a solution.
Re: agar95
I agree the live and times of Bessler and any threads after his time have value.
I have learned so much about early settlement of America via the threads
relating to other quests.

Re: agar95
right on,
found a book
in it was how he did it
he built a base and put some wood at a 45 degree angle and and added a large dowel, that was the axel of the wheel
the axel was stationary it did no rotate
he attached a silver bar to it, it could be straight up from the axel or even to the right
on the silver bar he attached a lode stone that he filed to a certain shape to be on the the inside of the wheel, looked like a tear drop that was bent, long tear drop
he built the wheel onto the shaft one side exposed
he inserted horse shoe nails at an angle (extreme) to the inside face of the wheel, the whole circumference
the theory of it is the big end was the most powerful it would pull the nails, and as the nails passed the bent teardrop magnet to the smaller end it started to release the nails, meanwhile the the big end would still attract more nails.
from the old drawings I seen there was no neutral spot it pulled at one end and released on the other
he didn't want anyone knowing his secret so he added a stone or 2 or 3 about the size of a pea into the wheel to make noises of a mechanical nature to throw people off of what was really happening inside, making them think it was gears or something else, then he completed the exposed side and thus covered it.
the book was a collection of amazing but true stories, don't know the title of it, Shoichi Yokoi was in it as well, and growing up on Guam that's the 2 things I remember about this book, Shoichi Yokoi, (stood 5 feet from the man, never met him) and Besslers wheel, Shoichi Yokoi was real so it gave credibility to Besslers story too, also vagally remember a story of a guy that got thrown from a exploding volcano and lived if that helps in your search for the book.
I hope this helps

Re: agar95
Thank for the update.
Great description of the contents of the book.
There is no reason why Bessler's did not create the first magnetic motor. That being reported by the apprentice.
Bessler does state he had different methods to create PM.
It is good you found the book of 'collection of amazing but true stories' in the past and I understand you do not have it now.
Some people here would be looking forward to Published date, Book publisher and Author.
I would not be surprised a person was a subscriber to Reader Digest and had it posted to him in Guam.
I have a habit of keeping everything. But something has to go eventually.

Re: agar95
That's interesting, but unfortunately it wouldn't work. Lodestones are very weak magnets, and magnetism has been considered before as a prime mover by many people and magnets are like any other conservative force; they give the same amount of force they take.
I don't think B. mentions them in MT, but I suppose some of those drawings might be interpreted using magnets as though they were a missing element - but they still wouldn't work.
Thanks for the information lotar.

The additional information K.L. supplied 'collection of amazing but true stories'.
This got me thinking. The first thought is we have different focused people viewing this site. We have two main groups. That being Builders & Literal Researchers. A person is weighted with a little of each.
Lets focus on the Literal Research aspect as the builders group are assisted by any information that is found.
The question put forward was: What is this book doing in Guam?
I imagined a book being sent to GI in the second world war getting mail, books and good like Coke Cola. To assist morale and distraction during their down time.
So these types of books were 'true stories' are publish. This would be a form of advertising. A persons would put forwards their stories and get paid if there story is included.
Therefore if compiled in the USA then there would have been a large population of stories. Some family stories from the old counties.
As the 'true stories' would also imply the stories are researched for validity; One would hope.
One such true story was 'Oak Island'. This was publish around 1960 and inspired many investigations.
So what appears to be a little point 'collection of amazing ...' can send researches in the right direction.
For example was the book hardback or paperback.
Or was there a logo. something silly like a penguin.
An images carries weight and is remembered long after other text details are lost.
These impressions can trigger others to narrow down the places too look.
My dream is some dusty filing cabinet is the original verification research of the story. Stating the name of the story holder and any other extra research that was found.
Regards

I found the book when I was going for a joy ride on my dirtbike through the jungles of Guam, dirt roads, secluded, and sometimes some people would throw there trash away on the secluded trails in the jungle instead of paying to have it disposed of properly, on my bike I found such a dump site, looked through it and found loads of books, such as the machinists handbook, all good keepers, among them was the book that were talking about, I cant remember if it was hard or soft bound, it wasn't important to me at the time, the story of Bessler and his wheel really caught my eye, I knew it was important so I burned the image of the mechanics and the pictures in my mind, I can draw the pictures exactly.

Guam was American before WW2, when the japs hit Hawaii, Guam was already taken, communication was super slow in those days, after it was all over the US built the Air base at the North end bigger and the navel base (south end) bigger, I dont know if the book came from someone serving in the armed forces or not, cant tell who owned the book in the fist place.

the story of the jap soldier that was found on Guam in 1972 is true 100% I have seen him and heard his story and seen where he lived, very tangible, like i said I stood 5 feet from the man when he was old on the Liberation day parade on Guam, he was invited back to the island as an honorable guest, the governor gave him a key to the island, the man survived for years on the island without no one knowing, he has my respect!

Yes you are correct, they did find a bit of gold after drilling, a bit of a gold chain from what I remember.
For example was the book hardback or paperback.

I only collected hardbound books unless the information was good, I only collected non fiction, never had time for fiction.

I didn't peg or log that in my memory, at that age, didn't think it was important, I know better now

Agreed whole heartedly, like I said I can duplicate the images of the drawings.

Re: agar95

I have lots of items too clear out of my place and what do I find.
Reader's Digest titled 'Did You Know?' published in 1990. Hardcopy
There is a section on Perpetual Motion'.
The section does not have Bessler details only other less viable examples.
There is hope we may find the source publication.
