There is a phase relationship between a buoyant force and gravity.

Are there any trisectors here?

Lucifer has designed and built his hydraulically controlled mountains and pyramids, yet my client made the dirt.

There is no phase relationship. Buoyancy isn't just lifting something lighter. Archimedes figured it out: Displacement. Buoyancy is gravity. The heavy thing is falling, the light thing is pushed out of the way by the heavy thing settling.

Buoyancy is in phase with gravity pushing liquid weight down.

The way I see it Kaine, is they ( gravity and buoyancy ) are 180 out of phase. Gravity pulls things to centers while a buoyant force lifts things away from the center.

Also somewhat weirdly, if a mass is distributed on opposite ends of a beam with a pivot in the middle, the contraption balances in any position.

Yet if 2 buoyant bladders are arranged similarly in water they balance in only one position, level with the pivot.

I understand helium is buoyant in air and might float a lead balloon, yet that's beyond the scope of my analogy. :)

I figured out an experiment you might try with a kayak, Fletcher. When you're balanced in the middle, the buoyant forces push up and everything is even keel.

Now crawl over to one side or the other. That should put the bottom on the top and the top on the bottom.

It gets better. Next lash a couple of life vests to an oar and jam the vests into the water on the port side.

Observe how the PoB (Point of Balance) shifts starboard?

:)

Yeah Good One WaltzCee ! : )

The way I see it :- With Buoyancy , - The Medium is the Message !

With gravity on a Mass in a Vacuum , - nice clear direct (no Middlemen in sight) situation - weights on a lever arrangement with fulcrum/pivot - balance in any position .

However , - with buoyancy the weight of the mass or the force acting on the mass is dependent on the pressure of the medium at the particular height measured at . Higher up , less dense and therefore less force acting upwards , and at lower height , more force acting upward ! .

The forces agree (unlike global political forces) to minimize their disagreement and compromise at a minimum point which is in line with the pivot ! - a most acceptable position to both parties ! : ).

The BIG problem with buoyancy ,as a "prime mover" IMO , is that of friction .

The "medium - ( Vacuum , Air , Liquid , Fluid material) each have increasing frictional loads which are unavoidable {under all circumstances} as far as I can visualize .

But of course in a vacuum the force is minimal , and in a gas not terribly high !.

Unless this frictional load can be utilized in some manner to make the overall 360 degree rotation asymmetric , then the increased frictional load of a buoyancy system has got to be an important disadvantage .

But who is to tell ! , - if you don't look , - you don't see !

Even though gravity is mediated by the medium in buoyancy ,- there is likely still an abundant energy flow available if we could figure out how to get that asymmetry required to split the 360 degrees .

I suppose we shouldn't really mind passing on a nice warm feeling to the medium just by sacrificing a little bit of energy ! : )
Have had the solution to Bessler's Wheel approximately monthly for over 30 years ! But next month is "The One" !
