I feel your pain Jubat. I personally quit the search for a few years, due to many of the points you make. Unfortunately, I love fringe science and have been sucked back into it. I think the important thing is to keep your life in good balance. Don't let it take over (says the pot to the kettle).

Science says PM is impossible and all evidence confirms this. Proving otherwise is an impossible or near impossible mission.

It's taken over my life and I resent it. I made the choice, but I have to say if no one in this modern era nor over the past 300 years has figured this out, I dare say it won't be solved. I used to be a staunch believer in the entire story, but now I'm not so sure. Not saying Bessler was a fraud, but none of us were alive back then and who knows...maybe this entire thing is like one of Shakspeare's plays...a big fabricated story meant as the greatest act of theater of all time...luring in the unwary and we the audience got drawn into the story so deeply we actually believed it could be done.

Is Bessler's wheel a reality and can it run?

We've all been there, and taken a hiatus or two - rebalanced our lives and recharged the mental batteries as the need arises .. fortunately enough of us keep taking a turn and stepping up to the plate to take a swing ..

What keeps me at the coal face is the mental challenge of solving a difficult puzzle, with whipped cream on top of the possible upside to some sectors of humanity who would greatly benefit from the legacy of the technology ..

Rarely does a PM mental patient ever glimpse the asylum exit door. Get out while you can, don't stop, don't listen... run and don't look back! :D

Some of you have serious doubts about Bessler. When I get down myself, I think of this fact. Every wheel he made was in response to some criticism and doubt. And every wheel he made was better and bigger that the previous one. Nobody would choose that course in that day, if they knew it was a sham. They always quit after number one.
He got disgusted at his reception, and got revenge with MT, Apologia, the Apologia wheel and the rest of it. His only chance was to try publishing some books, and in the process set everybody on fire chasing what only he knew.

It means Bessler dropping his pants and mooning everyone. Kind of a play on words of the "full moon."

When I'm having a "doubting session" I think about all the time, effort, and billions that
are being spent on trying to achieve nuclear fusion.

They don't appear to be "a few days away" either!

What we are trying to do with limited resources is no less worthy.
