Hi

Your last image leave me thinking could it be backwards?

You have spent many years with this image and your engineering knowledge is more than mine.

I imaging the red mass is lock to be the same distance to the anchor point of the left.

So the red mass should press down more than the yellow mass. Therefore the Red mass goes down and the yellow goes up.

Now when the anchor point goes around the bottom of the top drum the Red mass is moved towards the right.

Hopefully the yellow mass has gone over the top of the same drum.

Now it has more weight pressing down than the Red mass as it's closer to it's right anchor point.

I remember seeing the images of AB Hammers device.

I had two bars that were raised up and down and connected to a disc on one end and a pivot on the other.
The bars pushed through the pivot t cause the masses to move towards the pivot and then back.

I would shoe the image put that required a image search without an index. Ho there is this link.
