There is a lot more to that than I thought. Thanks Sam and Fletcher.

Fletcher,
It's a great sim! I was a bit disappointed at first but, it is very graphic; and really does show how the wheel might work if given a chance------------------Sam

ETA
The idea is to find a good way to turn the rollers.

You are welcome Sam - fwiw if you don't want slippage by forced turning (by whatever means) of the rollers I'd probably just use high friction contact surfaces (sandpaper analogy) or just a drum ring gear and roller planet gear ..

Think about getting someone to load pics for you if you want our discussion input or assistance with anything - it's not compulsory but does aid more accurate communication of ideas when that is the aim ..

Best for the holiday season ..

Fletcher,
Slippage isn't a problem because, when the cross bar is horizontal it pushes side ways on the axle of the rollers. It's the same as if you were pushing a cart. The problem I do have is; they refuse to roll straight. I need to make a guide, a track if you will, to keep them rolling in a straight line, sort of like the wheels on a train.

I was about a day, or so from trying it; now it's back to I don't know when. However, my plan is to get the wheel working. Then, (if that happens), concentrate on the next issue; the pictures, or lack there of.

I hate being nice to you Fletcher, but I'm sure I will need more sims later on. I'm afraid the linkages, won't show up that good in a photograph.
Take care and have a good holiday------------------------Sam

Fletcher, don't you see?
You have essentially demonstrated the whole concept. In the lower sim you are driving the rings, right? In this mode the rollers rise and fall twice per revolution. This is where all of the energy comes from.

In the upper sim you are driving the rollers. In this mode they cause the wheel to turn. The "Idea" then, is to combine the two sims onto one. Now you would have 4 rollers and 4 rings, one set vertical the other horizontal.

The horizontal set drives the wheel. And, it's rollers, are driven by the lifting and falling of vertical set. I know you must think I've wigged out------------------Sam

Unbelievable!!
That's it SHADOW, exactly; I love it, especially the colors,(Ukraine). Best charismas present I ever received. It's not a proof of concept; (it all has to be verified), but it does give you the sense of it.

To take it a step farther, two toggle links provide the connection between the two cross-bars. Remember, you used a toggle linkage on one of the many wheels that you have presented. I'm using the same thing, It gives two power strokes,(there are two toggles), per revolution of the wheel, if you can call it that---------------Sam

What can I say? I'm at a loss--------------------

Pouvez vous m'indiquer une présentation qui correspond à votre utilisation?
Les galets mis sur les barres provoquent effectivement un basculement, votre concept doit être plus performant.

Can you give me a presentation that matches your use?
The rollers put on the bars actually cause a tipping, your concept must be more efficient.

SHADOW,
By tipping, if you mean OOB, (unwanted out of balance), it might be do to the cross-bars. If so, ideally there effect would be minimal but can't be ignored either. If I understand correctly. Presentation, not much other than what I've already stated. How else can I help?

Although, the over all concept is fairly simple, some of the details aren't---------------Sam

Sam:
vous pourriez peut être esquisser le système bascule avec les touches du clavier.
Les points comptent pour des blancs.

Sam:
Maybe you could sketch the system flip with the keys on the keyboard.
Points count for blanks.

SHADOW,
It's very unfortunate; but I'm computer illiterate. I don't know how to do anything. I'm screwed up I guess. I'm 80 years old,(83 if you are counting), I can't figure out how to do it. Some thing is wrong with me, I just don't know what it is---------------------------------Sam

ETA, If each roller weighed 137.5 lbs., a set of rollers would generate one hp @ 60 rpm. I.E., 137.5 X 2 = 275lbs. If the displacement is one foot and they lift and lower twice per rev./ 275 X 2 = 550 foot lbs. per second, or one hp @ 60 rpm.

SHADOW,
Your are a good inventor, a lot better than me. The vertical bar moves up and down with a lot of force. All that is needed, is to find a way to push the other one sideways, and the wheel will turn-----------------Sam

ETA, SHADOW, I had an idea, add a blue stripe to the vertical bar and a yellow one to the horizontal bar. If it can be done, it would help to keep them straight as the wheel turns.
