Take two incline planes. Put them back to back with an axle in between. Now on one wrap it into a spiral. What is different the distance the ball travels, no. The mechanical advantage, no. The torque on the axle, yes.

A spiral has mechanical advantage , the inclined planes wrapping around its shaft is mechanical advantage , if there is no difference between the plane MA and the spiral MA then they should be in balance , you however mean to say one produces less counter torque on the axle to create a net torque , i doubt there would be a continues net torque from this , although i would love to see it because i am busy with counter torque reduction myself.

It is impressive but it doesn’t run very good with the motor off. I still don’t believe the buzzsaw isn’t anything more than an old piece of mining machinery; but what then was it used for? It sure doesn't like RPM or being reversed. Reverse it piles up immediately is it some kind of safety brake and speed limiter?

I had a go at something similar a while back.
The difference being, the mass of weights were moving around the axle, with the hope of the last weight dropping back (rotating slower) in a similar fashion to Shadows sim.
My sim isn't as good as Shadows, and i didn't do too well when selecting the colours. In the programme everything was easy to distinguish, but on the Youtube video it's not very easy to see the heavy weights, or what's what.

I like to think if we ever find the solution to Bessler's wheel, we will be able to either work out how the Buzzsaw worked, or be able to assume with more confidence that it didn't.

Hi Shadow, before you do anything else with the idea just try setting the accuracy to 1200 and see if it can still do what you want it to do. Having the accuracy on 60 causes too many errors.

Hi Shadow, in Algodoo left click the cog like icon next to File then click Simulation and you can then select the accuracy. By default it is normally on 60 but this is way too low. I suggest having it on 1200.

Basically it makes things more realistic. Generally the simulations run slower because your computer is working harder.
