This time we have a different distribution of mass ('punctuality").
This can be a challenge,a call to engage our imagination and skills for a self-moving device, due to gravity fall and inertia,only...

.....as a particular "game",contains the double pendulum ,at:

We can see a so-called "chaotic" motion of "two sticks".
In my opinion,it's a simple game with gravity and inertia.with no closed -cycle control.
As a matter of fact ,we have:
- a fixed fulcrum
- a mobile fulcrum
- two sticks/levers
The irregular motion/swinging (chaotic???) is due to the mobile fulcrum,as a basis for variable interaction with inertia.
This simple mechanical design can be useful, with some restrictions :the very ancient shadouf ,the old country water fountains in Europe.....the "abstracts" of Milkovic (lever+pendulum).
In my opinion we can control these some "new " aspects of inertia ,and use them , so to complete the "image"-design of a gravity motor and even that of an inertial tractive pendulum (inetial propulsion, inertia drive...)
By the way:if you intend to accommodate with the control of this kind of motion, take a look at kinetic sculptures...

The input ("prime mover"... you like this expression...) is the "unseen" wind.
The output is... what you can see...
This game implies wind, gravity and inertia.
Our game is in "great demand" for gravity and inertia, only.
If you replace the (air) wind with the "rotational wind"...can you imagine ?
The key-words are unbalance and "fall" (in gravity & inertia ).
In my opinion,we can find a gravity powered device(or as you like to call it...) at a "crossing" ,intersection of two "winds":gravity and "bursting" inertia.

.....with a "hidden" motion source (magnet+battery ) , in a double,,superposed "frame (gravity +inertia)" at :
www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWKVWnHRzOU
Our competition is to obtain motion due to gravity and inertia, with no "covered origin".
In this movie, there is an interesting sequence (2:47 to 2:55 ),an attempt to stop the motion...here,the "flash" idea can be to limit the motion of the small stick, only :it can rotate no more than 360*.
If we play the up here game,it canl be a little bit various...
But , if we play a "clean" mechanical two-sticks game,it's possible to have a nice surprise...
...the simple fact that a continuous motion due to gravity and inertia can be performed in an astonishing elementary manner.
