I had a version of JC's book, that had all the MT drawings and the words associated with them.
The computer i had when i purchased the book no longer works and i am not keen on paying twice, even if it is only a small sum, bloody principals, they always get in the way lol.
I'm happy to spend £100 on plywood sheets, cut to size for my latest attempt, and well over £100 on the different bearings, but no way i am paying a fiver for an E book, I've already paid a fiver for.
It's a pain being a human with stupid principals. If i say pretty please, will John let me have another download?

Can you boot the computer from a USB stick in order to pull the data from the drive or pull the drive and install it on the new computer? usb enclosures that fit many kinds of drives are available. It can help you in many cases except from lightning strikes or immersion in water.

I think it is highly likely that that would work just fine.
There is one slight problem though, i haven't got a clue what you are talking about.
I also think another case when it's not possible, is when it has been whacked repeatedly with a big hammer.

For the most part it was a collection of unworkable devices. I referred to it a lot, I think it helped----------Sam
