The Great Graham has spoken! Do we dare disagree with him--------------------Sam
Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
Sam the opinions that I express I do so mainly on my own topic. People are free to come and go as they please and to disagree and ignore everything I say if they wish.

Hi Roxaway59
I have been working on something else and wonder if you want to take up the thread of my reasoning or let it hanging.

Hi agor95, if you are referring to the speed of the wheel then I don't know what to make of that speed at the moment. Its not making much sense to me. Maybe if you show what you are saying with a diagram and some rough calculations that might help.

Hi Roxaway59
The hanging thread is the double pendulum posted above where the weight either drops faster than the rotating arms or slow or at the same speed.
This fits into the 'AP wheel within wheel' concept.
An the calculations have been the bane of my life :)

Yes sorry agor95 I just realized the post you are talking about and some how I missed it.
I think its still going to be best if you could make a simple diagram and I can make it in Algodoo if its easy enough.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
The funny thing is I'm working on one in Algodoo that might be kind of related to what you are saying.

Hi Roxaway59
Slight problem the dynamics are in 3 dimensions. So 2d illustrations are too flat.
It's late so this will be visited another day.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
Hi Roxaway59
For I need to use the 'Cross-Product' in the calculations.
This only exists in 3 Dimensions and not is 2 or 4+ Dimensions.
But I will try and make this happen.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
Hi agor95, It sounds like something you have put a lot of time and effort into.
These things are never easy because we feel time passing and I think it was Shakespeare who said time is the fire in which we burn.
No one likes to feel that they are wasting any of the precious time they have. That's one of the reasons why I don't care about sharing ideas or about who finally gets to make a working wheel.
If I can help in any way I will.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
I am staying with this theme of wheels with their CoG well over to one side and I am exploring all the possibilities with certain designs like the Algodoo simulation below. There are lots of ways of doing this and my hope is that one will reveal itself as the way forward.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
The smaller circle is fixed and is just there to attach the grey beams to. This can be replaced by an artificial horizon hanging from the axle.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
This example is similar but with one slight difference.
Because the beams are allowed to stretch out fully the beams can now switch states which they do every cycle.

Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.
The reason it changes state is because in a way the yellow weight is behaving like a pendulum. Once it is moving in a certain direction its kinetic energy (or lack of) carries it past the pivot line.
