Update,
Getting close to trying it. To reiterate, the center drive roller rotates twice the speed of the wheel. With a reversing gear, it drives a jack shaft on the center line, opposite to the rotation of the wheel. Therefore; the rotation of the wheel adds one turn to it,(I think).

Which means that the roller chain and sprockets to the outer weights have to be reduced by three to one. 15 teeth on the center sprockets and 45 teeth on the outer ones. Which is good news,(it will give more leverage,(MA), for shifting the weights), except now I have to order new sprockets--------Sam

ETA Maybe it adds two turns; it's driving me crazy!!

Oystein has given me an Idea.

I'm thinking that the prime mover,(Primum Movens), was a means or way to generate rotary motion on the wheel, in addition to or separate from it. Which was then used to shift the outer weights continuously.

First off I don't know if it will work. It has not been tested.

However, the so called "Prime Mover" that I referred to; is a fairly simple arrangement of gears, roller chain and sprockets. A small transmission, if you will, mounted at the center of the wheel to supply constant rotary motion, (opposite to the rotation of the wheel), needed to shift / move the outer weights, at or near the rim of the wheel. It, the trans., is driven by a spur gear fixed to a shaft on the center line of the wheel, The odd thing is, the shaft is fixed to the wheel and turned by the wheel.
I guess you could say the non mover becomes the moved. The outer weights will be inverted,(they can flip from side to side), to reverse the direction of rotation--------Sam

A follow up. Most of the cards I get are blank or are all marked jokers--------------Sam
