BTW, the Terms of Service says that proper attribution should be given, so the Glory should go to a Christian God. (as much as that may "grate" on some of you)

Wheeler...
I'm using an older Magnavox "Super VGA" monitor (14") and it has knobs located under the front bottom edge that allow for adjusting the horizontal and vertical on the picture. Somewhere on your monitor there must be adjustments...maybe they are at the rear of the monitor. Of course, with all the new fancy montiors coming out today, maybe they have completely done away with knobs and one must turn the computer on and adjust the picture through the operating system's Control Panel options. If you hunt around for it long enough, you will find it.
Robert...
Sorry to hear you are under the weather. I know how frustrating it can be to want to accomplish something and to be handicapped by poor health. However, as I've learned the hard way several times, sometimes when one is ill, they should be resting completely and let various projects go for a while. Aside from the recovery of one's health, the "down time" can be an excellent opportunity to let one's mind wander and consider new approaches that he might not have time for ordinarily.

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

Edit; Thanks Wheeler, but I just tried to read this when I was tired and it seems to be a little convoluted. I'l try to do this better.Michael wrote:Hi Seawasp sometime in January.
Hi Fletcher. Actually it's the curve, but it's not the curve, it's the angle the weight is accelerated under that is attributed to it's speed. A curve where the weight begins at a 90 degree angle, or in otherwords a straight vertical fall before it starts to turn horizontally will be faster. It doesn't have to be a curve it could be just straight angles but then there would be losses due to impacts. One or two straight angles will only have a short distance of acceleration compared to the curve to they won't be as effective and many straight angles will begin to outweigh the distance of travel of a curve. A curve seems to combine the effectiveness of the sharpest angle and conservation of distance.
The reason a weight descends on a curve faster than a straight line between two points has to do with the angle the weight accelerates under plus the length of distance. If the distance between two points was purely vertical then the weight will move the fastest if it was just a straight line, but in cases where the two points are at some other angle, then a curve is typically faster especially if the weight begins from a 90 degree vertical fall. If you used two straight lines, or angles, for example one mostly vertical and the other mostly horizontal, so the weight begins with as much vertical fall as possible, you'll find that the lengths of the two angles out distance the curve so the weight will have to travel further. You could try and add more straight lines but then your only coming close to replicating the curve. A correct curve combines the best initial angle for acceleration and conservation of distance.

I wish you and whichever god you gravitate towards all the very best in solving this difficult problem. Good luck Robert!

Anybody have any info on Bessler's strings and pulleys??
With the steel cable I'm going to use, there's no problem with stretching, but with strings there is.
Bessler may have avoided this problem by using long "poles" between the pulleys, with the string or maybe leather fastened to the end of the poles just where it had to go around a pulley!
Haven't hooked up mine with the steel cable.
No working model yet...
As I've said before, I don't want to be shown the wrong answer again...

I was wondering if I could have your permission to post this message of yours, along with the other one about you claiming to be a "Besslerslut", on my website, www.gravitypoweredwheel.com. It will be under the possible heading of the kind of dismissive insults that Johann Bessler was the victim of too.
ovyyus, far be it from me to DEFEND a Christian God, my only obligation is to acknowledge and praise him....insults bounce off me like bullets off of Superman's chest.
Now, what you should do is go back to all my posts and see if you can find anything that I have said that would be a no no. Do it now.

Robert, if I was trying to insult you I certainly would have phrased everything very differently indeed.
Perhaps I should keep it pale and simple, like just agree with you, be serious, and say "have a nice day".
PS: you can post anything I say anywhere you want if you think it will help. Do it now :o)

Don't we all (Jews, Christians, Muslims) worship the same God?........ a God unlimited!so the Glory should go to a Christian God.
Merry Christmas

Was the day before Christ-mas
and all thru the threads
not a mad scientist was posting
it was so dead
when up from north Houston
there arose such a clatter
all the guests logged on
to see what was the matter...
Wishing you and yours
a very merry Christ-mas
as we celebrate the birth
of the Lord of Glory.
Gene
ps: Could be santa, Ken. :)

Supposedly NORAD and Space Command keep secret logs of all the Unidentified Flying Objects following "non-ballistic trajectories" that they track on their radars and, mysteriously, the number of entries tends to peak around this time of the year...
